Guardians of the Galaxy revealed a great sense of humor from everyone in the main cast, but Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer was arguably the funniest of them all. And in a new image posted on Instagram by writer-director James Gunn, Drax looks to bring more of the same laughs in the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Fans got a taste of what Gunn was talking about in the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which teased the return of Drax's usual antics. Certain scenes from the previews didn't make the final cut, but that doesn't mean Bautista will be any less hilarious in the sequel than he was in the original.

Gunn posted the image on Monday showing Bautista covered in a greenish slime, which looks similar to the substance that Ronan tosses him into in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film. "This was uncomfortable as all get out for Dave but, as usual, he puts up with many feats of discomfort to make the Guardians great," the caption from the director reads.

I will be posting a #GotGPicoftheDay every day from now through the movie opening. They'll be composed of behind-the-scene shots from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 I took on my iPhone, my Leica Q, and a few select unseen set stills. Here's the first one, Dave Bautista (Batista) as Drax in quite a mess. The photo is the first of a series of stills that Gunn plans to share to his social media accounts every day until Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's premiere on May 5. The posts will include behind-the-scenes shots from Gunn's iPhone and Leica Q camera, as well as a handful of unreleased set photos from the sequel. Gunn also recently shared a look at Bautista as Drax, as well as the rest of the main cast, in an awesome new poster for the sequel.

The photo is just the latest indication that Bautista will not disappoint as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He showed a surprising knack for comedic timing and facial expressions in the original, and the look on his face in Gunn's photo suggests that Drax is not having a good time -- but for the audience, hilarity is sure to ensue.

Gunn not only hyped up the humor from Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, he recently said the character is "blowing people's minds" in test screenings. The director has not been shy about sharing information about the film and his excitement for it, which runs the risk of setting the audience up for disappointment. But at this point, there's little reason to believe that Bautista won't deliver another memorably hilarious performance.
