Although Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the next Marvel movie to hit theaters, Marvel Studios is gearing up to make a big marketing debut with their second 2014 film, Guardians of the Galaxy.

We recently reported that the first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer will be debuting on Tuesday (Feb. 18), and in advance of that reveal – but following the reveal of new characters and vehicles at the 2014 Toy Fair – we have a gallery of official Guardians of the Galaxy images to share.

Dubbed as “The Avengers in Space”, Guardians of the Galaxy tells the tale of one Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) a boy from the 1980s who winds up in the cosmos of a distant future, where fate brings him together with militant raccoon-looking alien named Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper); a tree-like alien named Groot (voice of Vin Diesel); Drax, ‘the deadliest man in the universe’ (Dave Bautista) and a mysterious lady named Gamora (Zoe Zaldana). When Peter (aka Star Lord) becomes involved with a destructive device (more on that HERE), he and his band of outer space misfits run afoul of baddies like Ronan the Acuser (Lee Pace) and the space pirate Nebula (Karen Gillan).

Check out the first official images from the film, which feature the team gathered together, their spaceship The Milano, and an additional close-up of Chris Pratt’s charming face. [Update: Replaced images with new high-res official photos – click to enlarge!]

NOTE: Be sure to check back for the official Guardians of the Galaxy trailer tomorrow!
