Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to kick off the summer blockbuster season at the start of May, and there is little doubt that it is going to be a huge success. The original Guardians of the Galaxy was the surprise hit of 2014, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and his team ever since. Now, Marvel’s in the final phase of its marketing campaign for the movie, releasing new images and teasers, and fans are so excited for the film that director James Gunn is even starting to field questions about the third installment!
Cinemas are also getting on board with the huge amount of hype that this movie is generating, with the announcement of a special double-feature screening that will treat audiences to both Guardians of the Galaxy and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 back-to-back. Now Regal has also announced a special deal for super-fans, with their Ultimate Ticket.
The Ultimate Ticket, which will set fans back $100, allows the holder to watch the film in theaters every single day (that it is playing), reports ComingSoon. The tickets are limited edition, with 1,000 available, and come as a one-of-a-kind collectible ticket featuring the movie’s iconic “Awesome Mix Vol. 2” laser cut and etched into anodized steel, with the ticket-holder’s name etched on the reverse. Purchase of an Ultimate Ticket also gives the ticket-holder 10,000 bonus credits for Regal Crown Club (assuming that they are a member). Ken Thewes, Chief Marketing Officer at Regal Entertainment Group says of the ticket:
We are truly excited to have Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as the first Marvel movie to receive the Ultimate Ticket treatment. Wear out your Ultimate Ticket for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 like your old mixtapes by seeing the movie every day in any format at Regal.
This isn’t the first film to get an Ultimate Ticket at Regal, although it is the first MCU movie to do so. Other major blockbusters like Star Wars have also been given an Ultimate Ticket for fans in the past.
The ticket is a phenomenal deal for fans who love the rewards points and collectibles, and who would be going to see the film multiple times during its run anyway. The Ultimate Ticket doesn’t allow unlimited access, but is restricted to one showing per day – although that is still more than most people would need, especially as the film will likely be in theaters for quite a long run. The ticket is also non-transferable, so it really is just for the truly dedicated fans.
