Great Idea to film The Base of Operations of Coast City, California where Hal Jordan is living at is located at Madisonville, Louisiana. I would say “Coast City, Louisiana” isnt that a strange city.

The only reason Hollywood out sources movie productions is because of the strength of the US Dollar. It’s simple economics.

The weaker a foreign currency is doing against the US Dollar for example in countries like Canada or Australia the cheaper it is to produce a film there than on home soil.

And don’t forget that in Australia Warner Bros have a studio on The Gold Coast, Queensland & Fox have a studio in Sydney, New South Wales.

Well so far all the effects houses they’ve used are very experienced and the art we’ve seen thus far has looked good. Does anyone think that they will rebalance the story to differentiate it from the animated movie?

Great news!! Give the character the treatment it deserves..a movie about a super-powered intergalactic police force!! Can’t wait to see how it translates..I think Campbell can easily handle this…I’d love to see the Yellow, Red, Blue and Black Lanterns all get screen time eventually in a franchise..

Ok before everyone says anything, im NOT a fan of DC, although Green Lantern, and Batman are my two exceptions.

Now, the only thing that causes an alarming disappointment towards me is the fact that the rings power can pretty much do anything. It can morph into swords and shoot green energy with it. All I’m saying is that i really don’t see the morphing change really working in the live-action adaption. But then again Ryan Reynolds is in it, so that makes up for it.

Ryan Reynolds is by no means “A good first move”. I’m pessimistic about this movie so bad because of him. I hope if this warrants a sequel he won’t be in it and the ring is transferred to someone else.

The look of the movie can be done well with special effects. They could film anywhere nowadays as long as they have a blue screen behind them. So Australia….USA….both can have a blue screen studio right? So why did they go to Australia again?

In that short quote from the director he sounds like his griping real bad about the SE though. Which worries me more.

Years ago, after seeing Goldeneye, I really wanted Martin Campbell to direct Iron Man. And since many fans say Green Lantern is, in some ways, similar to Tony Stark and Iron Man, I think this is great news.

And shooting in the USA is always welcome!

man this movie is gonna be epic i just hope they get awsome cgi like from avatar and make the movie more serious than childlike aka ghost rider which in my opinion could have been the best comicbook movie ever if done right aka chris nolan.

I think its awsome to hear that The Green Lantern will be filming in the U.S rather in Canada or Mexico. I just hope they do a really awsome job with the storyline and characters playing there roles. Ryan Renolds is the perfect Man for the Green Lantern Character..it would be nice to also see a Flash and Green Lantern Cameo or somthing..that would be nice.
