Although Zack Snyder's Man of Steel acted as a soft launch for Warner Bros' cinematic superhero world, the DC Extended Universe didn't kick off in earnest until the director's followup last spring, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, both Batman V Superman and the other 2016 DCEU release, Suicide Squad, were divisive among fans and critics. Now, 2017 will see the debut of Wonder Woman and Justice League - but plenty of other films are additionally in the works including James Wan's Aquaman, David Ayer's Gotham City Sirens, the recently announced Black Adam, a solo The Flash movie, and Green Lantern Corps.

That said, one notable DC Comics hero not yet expected to appear is Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow. It's unclear why the DCEU won't include the bow-wielding vigilante, but fans may wonder whether the prominence of The CW's Arrow - starring Stephen Amell as Oliver - is a contributing factor (though the DCEU does include characters that additionally appear in DC Comics TV shows). Of course, that hasn't stopped fans from offering suggestions for a big screen interpretation of the Green Arrow.

In fact, graphic artist BossLogic - who has become well known for his comic book/superhero fan art - offered one recent suggestion for Green Arrow: Charlie Hunnam. The Sons of Anarchy star portrays the titular role in Guy Ritchie's upcoming King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and a recent poster for the movie inspired BossLogic to reimagine Hunnam as the Green Arrow. Take a look at the image compared to the King Arthur poster and the full piece of Hunnam as Oliver Queen:

As many will likely point out, Hunnam's facial hair and look in the King Arthur poster certainly lend themselves well to a live-action Oliver Queen - especially considering the Green Arrow's design in DC Comics' Rebirth. Additionally, given Hunnam's propensity to complex and conflicted characters, as seen in Sons of Anarchy as well as King Arthur, he may be a good fit for a DCEU take on the archer/vigilante - not to mention the actor seems to have proven himself capable of the physical side to a Green Arrow role based on the trailer for King Arthur.

That said, it remains to be seen whether Warner Bros will even introduce Oliver Queen in the DCEU, let alone whether the studio will entertain Hunnam as a possibility for the role - or even if the actor would consider taking on a comic book movie. The future of the DCEU isn't quite clear. Although a number of projects are in various stages of development, and some have release dates, the shifting of The Flash and Aquaman - plus the recent additions of both Gotham City Sirens and Black Adam - put the exact release schedule into question.

Of course, it may be the case the Warner Bros has a clearer plan than it would seem, or they're simply in the process of altering their original plan in order to accommodate for certain creative changes behind the scenes - such as the appointment of DC's chief creative officer Geoff Johns as head of the DCEU. So, it's possible the DCEU will introduce Green Arrow at some point. But, whether or not that's the case, fans can continue to offer their own ideas of who could play the vigilante archer - besides Stephen Amell.
