Peter Sawkins recently became the youngest-ever winner of The Great British Baking Show. Here's everything you need to know about the talented baker.

On the show, Peter started strong, winning star baker in week one. His precision and time management skills wowed the judges, and continued to be his strong points throughout the competition. He won his second star baker title in the semi-final week, as well as earning a handshake from judge Paul Hollywood for his strawberry and elderflower babas. Peter was the favorite going into the final, despite being the youngest baker in this year's competition and the youngest-ever finalist. His competitors were Dave Friday and Laura Adlington, who had both excelled in previous weeks. In the end, it was Peter, the student from Edinburgh, who took home the top prize.

We know Peter is an excellent baker, but what else is there to know about him? He's from Scotland, and is the first Scottish winner of The Great British Baking Show. He has an older brother, Andrew, who is gluten intolerant, which factored into many of his bakes. Peter has been passionate about baking since the age of 12, when he saw the first season of The Great British Baking ShowThe show inspired him to start baking, and he frequently referenced tips he picked up from the series while preparing his masterpieces. Besides baking, Peter enjoys playing badminton and gives lessons on the side. He told host Noel Fielding that he has taught everyone from three-year-old toddlers to seniors. Peter is also president of the badminton club at the University of Edinburgh, where he studies accounting and finance.

Since winning the show, Peter has been on quite a rollercoaster. He appeared on Good Morning America right after his win for his first television interview. Peter wrote on Instagram that he was "freaking out a little" after glazing a cake on GMA. He also showed off his glass cake stand in a post. "I am that excited giddy kid right now," he wrote in the caption. "I don't think I have the capacity right now to properly express my thanks and appreciation." He had many former Baking Show contestants wishing him well in the comments, including 2018's winner Rahul Mandal, fellow finalist Laura Adlington, and season 11 contestants Linda Rayfield and Sura Selvarajah. Peter and his fellow finalists wrote letters to express their feelings about the show just before the finale. He wrote, "I have grown from being stretched with new challenges and most importantly I have met some wonderful new people and made great friends."
