Heh, why I am writing my own personal Clue scrpit. So far, I typed 57 pages, so it's the longest script I've ever typed. And I have two detectives as the leads. It's kinda like that movie "Shutter Island".

Remakes usually suck and ruin a good film that was made way back when. Take Clash of the Titans. They totally messed it up with the remake. So glad I have the original. I agree that Tim Curry is the man and enjoyed him in Legend as well. They will have to get new talent since Madeline Kahn is gone but it should be good. I hate Will Ferrel and Jim Carey so as long as they aren't in it, it should be good. I find Will Ferrel and Jim Carey lack luster in comedy. Basically, They ain't funny! A more mysterious feel or even scarier feel would be awesome.

If Verbinski makes it a serious, intriguing, even scary film with some cool FX and a terrific cast it'll work..

If not, it'll be just another remake of a classic that NEVER should have been made in the first place..

..kinda like THE THING!

And yes, Tim Curry is the bomb! His performance in 'Legend' was the best!

Agreed. The original film was genius. Tim Curry is indeed the man(I use that loosely, Frankenfurter) the whole cast was brilliant, especially Curry and Michael McKeen. To do another film and try to make it serious is a massive mistake. I'd rather see them do a sequel to the original, acknowledging the previous event between the entire cast, and have an outside party set them up. Definitely bring some new talent to the characters though, like having Jason Bateman play Professor Plum, and Kristin Wig as Miss White, and Steve Carrell as Mr. Green, and (dare I say it?) Will Ferrell as Colonel Mustard. Then again, that could blow up in their faces equally as much.

The original movie was great. Do yourself a favour and watch it.

Board games are such a vague spec for a script that I don't have an opinion on them.

@ Jason,

I don't own the movie and don't live near enough to a DVD store to run out and buy it.

I don't think seeing the 1985 film was essential before writing the post - the main point of the story wasn't about that '80s flick but rather them doing another movie.

The first clue movie was fun, funny, didn't take itself too seriously, and had 3 possible endings, each plausible in its own way, but the real ending was the kicker.

If they're going to make a movie of the game, It should be fun, funny and enjoyable, because that's the spirit of the game.
