  1. I don’t understand how you guys can decide Ben Affleck is going to make a great batman based on one picture. The picture is cool and everything but I need to at least see a trailer before I’m convinced.

  2. I saw Godzilla the opening day and I loved it! after listening to a few podcasts about it, and hearing some people’s issues with it, I went back and saw it a second time. Upon my second viewing a few more issues became apparent. Some of these are nit-picking because overall I still really enjoyed the film and would recommend it to most people.
-There are several instances (Hawaii scene, train bridge sequence) when its unclear whether it is late at night, or early in the morning, I assume both were the former but I would be interested in seeing if they have a time-line for when each event happens.
-I also agree that it was sort of a cop-out the way in the first 2 action sequences they cut away just as we were about to see some sweet action, only to show a bit on a smaller tv screen. I get they were trying to build suspense, and showing it on a tv screen doesn’t require as much $ spent on effects, but I would love to see extended sequences on the Hawaii airport and Las Vegas scenes.
-The roar sounded great, but otherwise the volumes were pretty inconsistent. It seemed like if you saw Godzilla’s feet stomp, there was huge bass, but if he stepped just off-screen there was almost no noise. In hawaii you couldn’t hear him at all until his leg was illuminated by the flares, then lots of noise. Kinda similar with the roar, I felt it was inconsistent of how loud it would be. (I was in IMAX for both screenings)
-Why was the Navy practically escorting Godzilla most of the time? Both times he would go under the giant ships I would think his back spikes would gash up the underside. He dove pretty late in both instances. And is there a reason his spikes are so exposed on the surface while he swims? is that traditional? it seemed odd…
-The human characters (mainly Ford) were very weak, and it could be a combination of things, but this does give me a slight reason to be unsure of him as Quicksilver in AoU. I know he will be a small part of that movie vs stretched out too far for Godzilla.
-The ending of Ford passing out after auto piloting the boat was really laughable second time around… I mean there were no more monsters to draw out of the city… if he had just defused the bomb like he was trained for it would have saved all the complaints about nuclear fallout (not sure if whether a bomb being that off-shore would help at all)

Wow putting them all down it seems like I had more issues than I thought. I can’t wait for the sequel because I assume it will have to get to the Godzilla action earlier on in the film, can’t make us wait for 2/3 of the movie again.

    “Let them fight!”

  3. Another very entertaining podcast! I’ve been listening to them since the beginning (minus the Green Lantern)and they just keep getting better. keep up the great work! #whatskofihavingfordinner
