Howsabout Kevin Spacey for Joey Bishop (watch Beyond the Sea) and for Sammy, I’d say either Andre Benjamin (fantastic actor/musician) or Tim Meadows. I can’t get over his cameo in Wayne’s World 2.

I also agree with Robyn2. There’s a difference between a good actor and a great actor. Depp is a great actor. I can’t think of any other actor that is on the same level as him.

I agree with Robyn2. Sinatra always had this tension in him — never exactly sure what was going to happen and I think Mr. Depp has the depth required for the part. I am dying to see this movie made, love the director, love the subject.

Johnny Depp for sure, I like Clooney and Leo, they are all good actors, but Johnny is a great one. He has just the right amount of menace that is close to Frank’s. Certain danger element – do not see that in Clooney or Leo.

huntthejest pretty much nails it, early on in the thread… clooney’s got the Sands-era vibe, and is a bit more in a.. “a different kind of slightly baggy-eyed masculinity cuz he’s a bit older” arena.. depp could slam it handily, would probably dna-imprint scorcese’s “hard-drinkin’, hard-@&$#%-in’, hard & serious musician/actor” side of frank as deeply as heath/joker.. but dear leonardo is.. a bit boyish, no?
hard-working, hits the right marks and shows up on time, but.. hey, this is FRANK, baby!!! so please leave the kiddies with that cute babysitter in the hotel room… grownups only, dig?

Anyone considered R&B Singer Neyo for Sammy davis jr cameo??. He definetly dresses the part from his videos. And he showed acting chops in stomp the yard. He has sammies essence not so much the look though. Another person of interest for sammy may be usher…again it could be a small part and Usher has been in numerous movies.

for my opinion, 3 of them is brilliant actor no doubt! but who is more suitable for ‘Sinatra’? if you all look carefully sinatra is a small/skinning person. or he wore a big suit!

both Depp and Dicaprio have to lose their weight for the role.but clooney he already look like him!

Doing piledrivers while singing… that does sound gnarly. Even more so if they have a drink and pull a deano(not spill it whilst taking down the mobsters they’re pile driving). But now were going to date movie and scary movie territory and i don’t see that in a movie about frank. Maybe this could fit in “The Sinatra Club” since it seems like theres more action in that movie then there is in this one.

lol… why big guys? sinatra was big in personality not physically… but what the hell if he could pull it off i’d watch it. I just saw a 2 hour movie with a dude that looked like a female version of mickey mouse (don’t want to say minnie mouse becuase he’s still a guy) sing like michael jackson so if he could pull it off why not.
