Since the release of Genshin Impact, gliders have been integral in both the story and gameplay of the game. For most of the time in Genshin Impact, players will be frequently using the glider to quickly navigate the map. Due to its position on the back of the player character, the glider is probably seen the most out of any element of the game, right next to the active character's model. Luckily, there is a wide variety of interesting and unique glider designs that players can unlock.
Currently, there are 10 unlockable wings in Genshin Impact. Although some gliders were only available for a short time span during various events, most can be obtained at any time by playing the game. This list will rank each glider, largely based on their in game appearance, and how the wings look when paired with various characters.
#10 Genshin Impact's Default Glider: Wings of First Flight
The first glider players receive in Genshin Impact's story is the Wings of First Flight. To obtain these wings, players will automatically be given the set from Amber when first entering the city of Mondstadt. This glider has a very simple design, featuring plain black feathers and a small, bronze pattern at the very top. Although it could be described as sleek, the Wings of First Flight really aren't anything special and function purely as a true default glider.
#9 The Playstation Glider: Wings of Descension
The Wings of Descension is a glider that is exclusive to PlayStation players, so Genshin Impact PC or mobile players won't have access to this set. While the design is definitely more complex than the default glider, these wings feel more like a parallel set, rather than a direct increase in quality. The blue accents on the feathers help make this glider stand out, giving a sleek vibe, reminiscent of the Playstation color scheme.
#8 The Dragonspine Glider: Wings of Concealing Snow
This is a special glider that players can obtain from maxing out the Frostbearing Tree in Genshin Impact's Dragonspine area. The Wings of Concealing Snow feature a smooth, white and gray pattern that gently fades into the dark blue tips of the feathers.
This design stands out well compared to other gliders since the main pattern stretches across the wingspan. This creates a nice, design that flows like falling snow, without being too complex. This simple glider fits perfect with Cryo Visions, as well as Genshin Impact characters like Rosaria and Kaeya.
#7 The Liyue Glider: Wings of Golden Flight
First of the reputation-based gliders, the Wings of Golden Flight can be obtained by reaching level 10 reputation with Genshin Impact's Liyue region. The glider features a design heavily tied to the Geo element, with dark orange and brown colors reminiscent of the Liyue region's color scheme. While the feather tips are very clean, and feature a nice color gradient, the shape of the glider overall is basic. With that being said, for any players running parties with many Geo characters, like Genshin Impact's Arataki Itto or Zhongli, the Wings of Golden Flight work extremely well with their outfits.
#6 The Mondstadt Glider: Wings of Azure Wind
The Wings of Azure Wind are another glider that can be obtained through reputation, this time requiring level 10 reputation with Genshin Impact's Mondstadt region. Much like the Wings of Golden Flight, the Wings of Azure Wind take heavy inspiration from the Mondstadt region's color scheme, featuring very vibrant dark teal and green colors that stand out very well. Compared to the Liyue wings, the color scheme works much better here, and is tied together perfectly with a mechanical pattern on top.
#5 The Launch Glider: Wings of Companionship
The Wings of Companionship were released as a reward for the high number of preregistration during Genshin Impact's initial release and are available for any new player to claim from the in-game mail system when making an account. These wings feature symbols reminiscent of the Traveler's Constellations, which is a nice touch. The color lets each symbol stand out even more and create a strong design overall, making a wonderful gift to players for the games launch. Due to the color scheme and symbols, this glider works perfectly in combination with the Genshin Impact character Mona, accenting her astrology imagery.
#4 Genshin Impact's KFC Glider: Wings of Feasting
The Wings of Feasting are a red and white glider with an interesting design and unique color scheme. The wings are no longer available, but players could unlock Genshin Impact's KFC glider through Twitch by gifting subs to specific channels. The colors of this glider are unique, featuring the colors of KFC in a very simple, yet elegant pattern. The shape of the wings also seems longer and smoother than usual, and contributes to their elegant design.
#3 The Inazuma Glider: Wings of the Stormrider
After players reach level 10 reputation with the Inazuma region, players will unlock the Wings of the Stromrider. This glider features a swirling purple pattern, reminiscent of the Electro element found throughout Inazuma.
The tops of the glider further the comparison, giving the Wings of the Stromrider a jagged, lightening bolt-esque appearance. The sharp shape combined with the mesmerizing, purple pattern make this glider the perfect fit for Genshin Impact Electro characters, like Fischl or Raiden Shogun.
#2 The Sumeru Glider: Wings of the Forest
For reaching level 10 reputation with the Sumeru regions, players will unlock the Wings of the Forest, a greenish glider with a very interesting shape. Out of all the gliders, the Wings of the Forest have the most interesting shape, with the feathers taking on the style of leaves, accenting the natural themes of the region. Each wing then converges into a heart on the back of the player character, making for an extremely unique design overall. As is the case with the other region based gliders, these wings work extremely well with the Dendro element and Genshin Impact character Nahida.
#1 Genshin Impact's Anniversary Glider: Wings of Shimmering Galaxy
Finally, the best glider available in Genshin Impact are the Wings of Shimmering Glory, which were only available for a limited time during the game's first anniversary. Although player's can no longer obtain them, each feather forms music notes across the wingspan of the glider and converge into a lute-shaped pattern in the middle. This glider is a perfect fit for any Genshin Impact fan that also has a deep love for music and works well with almost every character.
Whether due to matching certain characters or personal biases, it's almost impossible to create a definitive list of the best gliders in Genshin Impact. As the game progresses into future patches however, the gliders have only been improving and becoming more complex in design and quality. Hopefully when Fountaine is released in Genshin Impact, its special glider will follow this trend.
