Yah, I agree. But no matter how much I like Clint Eastwood, he's simply much too old. I can't imagine him fighting his Dirty Harry self, Dirty Harry would run circles around him. Bruce Willis would be 100% perfect in my opinion. Never during Live Free or Die Hard did I think he was too old to do what he did. But there were times that I thought he was too injured to do what he did though, lol. He was basically all beat up from the first major action scene in the tunnel. But he took out those (younger) bad guys inside that apartment without much effort, so you can already see how he can survive a younger version of himself using his smarts.

The problem with your list Johnny is that one of the things that makes this idea so exciting is the major action star idea. Names like Clint Eastwood, or Bruce Willis. I am a huge fan of Val Killmer and Micheal Keaton, but to be honest this would not be very exciting at all if they were in this role.

I'm with Ken and Vic on this one as will most people. Would be much better to see some one like Bruce Willis than a newer action star. It would work to cast a classic-ish action star and not a newer one who really isn't that old at all. Sort of ruins the point of the film to take some one in their early to mid 40's or younger.

You're complaining that going to old that the older person wouldn't have a chance, but didn't you also just say that the hero has to be weaker? So just make the older guy the hero. Lets face it most people will find them selves cheering on the older character anyway. Also keep in mind being the hero doesn't mean you always have to win. I think the idea has lots of possibility's and will be great.

A 60 yr old assassin would have to be of SOUND mind to even have a prayer against his 30 yr old countepart. One with a body and mind betraying doesn't stand a chance. 50 should be the top age. I mean he's supposed to be experienced not geriatric.

LOL, well I think the idea is more like someone in their 60's vs. the early 30's version. :-)

If done right I think this would be a great popcorn flick.

If your making it out that the older assassin is the "villian" then Ford, Wills, Stallone are too old. He should be a little younger like Clive Owens, or Jason Statham. Have him suffer from early stage alzheimers ( which is more severe if you catch it younger) and just running rampant. Flashbacking, killing , just completely off the reservation doing all kinds of crazy sh*t. That also explains why they have to clone him. They need someone who thinks like him before he went crazy. And of course the your thinking the that Jason Statham now would whoop his own ass at 19, 20 yrs old. But isnt that the point. If the villain is weaker then hero the story isn't that interesting is it. The final scenes should have younger clone version working as an assassin wondering if the same thing will happen to him.

What about Jean Reno? He is The Professional after all.

Then there is Antionio Banderas (I'm trying to think of guys that have played assassins).

Wesley Snipes.

Actually, the list is endless...

WHEW! You scared me!

When I saw "Gemini Man", the first thought that entered my head was this TV series from 1976 (also called "Gemini Man"), starring Ben Murphy as Sam Casey, who is caught in an explosion which makes him invisible.

By using a stabilizer in the form of a wrist watch, he can remain visible. By turning off this stabilizer, he can become invisible again for short periods of time. Any more than fifteen minutes of invisibility will make him disappear entirely. He used this invisibility as a secret agent.

An interesting TV series concept...but not Movie-worthy...thank the fates this isn't what they're making!
