HBO's Game of Thrones arguably has TV's best female characters, which could include some crucial new season 5 cast members revealed at this past summer's Comic-Con. While some fans may have figured out how the source novels will end, many more are waiting impatiently for the next season and the surprises in store.

Season 5 is currently filming in various locations around the world, including Kastel Gomilica in Croatia, where a Reddit user has snapped some set photos (hat tip to CBM). The photos feature certain characters whose presence in the same shooting location points toward the inclusion of a major storyline and provides further evidence that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be using plot threads from both Books 4 and 5 of George R.R. Martin's incredibly popular fantasy series.

While season 4 delivered on the promise of certain departures from the source novels, it also included storylines from the fourth and fifth books in Martin's series, even as it wrapped up the remainder of Book 3, A Storm of Swords. The set photos (see link below) seem to prove that we can expect more story elements from later in the series to show up earlier than expected in the show.

The Croatia set pictures follow Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, Iain Glen as Jorah Mormont and Maisie Williams as Arya Stark, all in costume and in the same shooting location. The last we saw of Arya, she had booked passage on a ship headed to Braavos (courtesy of Jaqen H'ghar) and, as longtime readers know, Braavos is where Tyrion eventually winds up after fleeing across the Narrow Sea after murdering his father.

As for Jorah, he was dismissed from his service to Queen Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), and by the time we catch up to him in A Dance with Dragons, he has spent a great deal of time exploring the seedier parts of the Free Cities. Tyrion crosses his path and Jorah takes him captive, hoping to deliver him to his Khaleesi and earn back her favor.

While Arya's adventures in Braavos begin in Book 4, due to the complicated way the fourth and fifth books compliment each other (the first half of A Dance with Dragons takes place concurrently with A Feast for Crows, and the second half moves the story forward), we don't find Jorah and Tyrion together until later in Book 5.

Frontloading the interesting pairing of Tyrion and Jorah - with the exciting prospect of the terrific actors playing them sharing a lot of screen time - points toward even more meddling with the source novels' layout. This presumably will also mean the inclusion of more material that isn't in the books at all, which is the best way to keep everyone surprised and coming back for more.

Game of Thrones season 5 premieres on HBO in Spring 2015.
