Game of Thrones is an all-engrossing experience when it’s on the air, but keeping up with the massive world and characters of Westeros can be a pretty daunting task on a good day – let alone across the span of different seasons. As such, while we await the imminent premiere of Game of Thrones season 3, today’s 15-minute season 2 recap video is here to save you the 13 or so hours it would take to watch the entirety of season 2 all over again.
From Tyrion Lannister’s political power struggles in King’s Landing, to Ayra Stark’s fight for survival behind enemy lines, everything you need to know about GoT season 2 is details in the video above – with a few hints at what might be coming in Season 3.
Adapted from the bestselling novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin, HBO’s Game of Thrones has become an award-winning hit that has introduced actors like X-Men: Days of Future Past star Peter Dinklage to the mainstream, and even influenced big-budget movies – as we’ll see when former GoT director Alan Taylor delivers Marvel’s blockbuster sequel Thor: The Dark World later this fall.
Readers of the novel series (like myself) know just what kind epicness is in store for season 3 of the show. With some new characters and deepening storylines all on the horizon, things are going to get darker, quickly. The third book (which this season is based on) isn’t called “A Storm of Swords” for nothing.
In fact, Book 3 is so epic, it could take two seasons of the TV show to cover it all.
Game of Thrones season 3 will premiere on Sunday, March 31st on HBO.
