Fans of Game of Thrones are chomping at the bit right now: Season 2 of the acclaimed fantasy drama is so close – and yet, feels so far away to those who want to see the game of knights, swords, sorcerers, fair maidens (and yes, thrones) continue as soon as possible -with a healthy dose of dragons thrown into the mix.
There’s still a bit of waiting to be done before we can return to the world of Westeros – but in the meantime, we continue to receive small hors d’oeuvres like the titillating Game of thrones season 2 trailers or the recent season 2 character images. Today, we offer ye eager fans both a new GoT season 2 poster, and yet another “making of featurette,” which chronicle the epic scope of the production HBO has endeavored upon, in order to bring this show to life.
Check out the new featurette, which focuses on the Icelandic production used to create the tale of Jon Snow and his brothers in the Night’s Watch, as they make their frigid expedition beyond The Wall:

Now check out the latest poster (CLICK FOR LARGER VERSION):
If you are unaware, season 2 will cover the events in volume two of author George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice saga, titled “A Clash of Kings”. Much as the title (and the poster above) reads, the sudden death of King Robert Baratheon and the imperious ascension of his false son Joffery have left a power vacuum in the Seven Kingdoms. Ned Stark’s son Robb claims the North as his own independent kingdom, while Robert’s brothers Stannis and Renly both lay claim to Joffery’s throne – while a dozen other players in-between scheme on ways to seize a piece of power and/or wealth for themselves.
The Seven Kingdoms are entering a tumultuous time, to say the least – never mind those foreign threats yet unseen, such as the dreaded White Walkers and Danereys Targaryen with her three newly-hatched dragons.
Game of Thrones season 2 premieres Sunday April 1st on HBO.

Is this show any good? I’ve always wanted to watch but always forget about it. Looks good but what do u guys think. Worth catching up?
ya man i dont really like mythical medievil lord of the rings type stuff usually…but this show is my favorite hands down on television. Its unmatched in production value and has a terrific story that is based off highly acclaimed novels…so worth it catching up…but warning dont watch it with children/ anyone you would feel uncomfortable watching sexually explicit material with
Do it. The show really fulfills the promise of cable television. The production values are fantastic and the performances are phenomenal.
It’s the 2nd greatest show ever on HBO.
2nd to?
The Wire
Show is great and the books are like crack. I read all 5 books in about 7 weeks.
damn thats impressive!
hell yeah that’s impressive. Just finished the first two. Clash of Kings took maybe two or three weeks. So my hats off to you sir.
Kofi….Brit scifi mag has unveiled some interesting tidbits about season 2 …thx to Adam Werthead over at Winteriscoming ….http://winteriscoming.net/2012/02/scifinow-magazine-features-amazing-s2-details/#comment-152044
The show and books are absolutely worth it!
I like the show, but I find myself not likeing many of the characters. That spoiled brat king plays the part too well…I really hate seeing his sections because he’s such a little creep show…But I guess that’s probably not too far off from the way some of the child kings were. A brat with absolute power…Who ever thought that made sense…?
I started watching the whole 1st season and I could not believe the action, drama, characters and their roles, story line, it is amazing. I may consider reading the books if season two has not been aired yet. Totally worth the time.
