Warning: potential SPOILERS ahead for Game of Thrones season 7

Fans of Game of Thrones are now in uncharted waters. Since the Emmy Award record-setting show has now surpassed the novels of creator George R.R. Martin, an all new source must be turned to for rumors about the upcoming plot - set reports. Recently, these have seemingly confirmed that a few of the series' many loose threads will be tied off in the upcoming seventh season. Character meetings suggest an alliance between the factions of Jon Snow (the new King of the North) and Daenerys (Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons).

Fans have also long been left wondering about the unresolved fate of Gendry, the bastard son of King Robert Baratheon. He was last seen in the show's third season fleeing across the sea in a rowboat from Melisandre, who was in a sacrificing kind of mood. With the recent sighting of Gendry actor Joe Dempsie in Belfast, Northern Ireland, (the filming location of his character's last known location) it seemed all but certain that he would finally be reappearing in the upcoming Season 7.

A new set report from Spanish Thrones site Los Siete Reinos (relayed by Watchers on the Wall) has confirmed that Dempsie hasn't merely returned, he in the thick of the political action. Reports are suggesting that Gendry is accompanying the members of the Stark/Targaryen meeting at Dragonstone. Set videos also confirmed a first ever meeting between Tyrion Lannister and Ser Davos Seaworth.

Game of Thrones - Ser Davos Seaworth and Tyrion Lannister

Considering Dragonstone was the place Gendry was fleeing from, Ser Davos will no doubt be surprised to find him here. Is it possible he simply backtracked onto the island and hid there since Season 3? Is his royal blood going to factor into the plot any further, or will he simply be acting as the humble blacksmith we know and love? Will Davos harbor any ill will towards Tyrion over the death of his son in the Battle of the Blackwater?

One thing is for sure, fans of Thrones are in for a season of momentous firsts! Do you have a theory about the impact of Gendry's return on the potential Stark/Targaryen alliance? Share it in the comments section, and stay tuned to Screen Rant for updates on Game of Thrones as they hit.

Game Of Thrones season 7 premieres on HBO in summer 2017.
