  1. Apologies again for my crumby audio this week everyone – I think my recording software was set back to default settings in an update. Have never had to double-check those settings before but we should be back to normal next week. Thanks for listening (and being understanding)!

    • i am a recent new listoner and am enjoying the show. had a brainstorm listening to your speculation about the new Pirates of Carribean plot – i think Capt Jack should find the fountain of youth and go all days of future past with Jay Baruchel as young tearaway jack sparrow. Even Jack Vs Jack on poster!

  2. Thanks for the podcast! It’s great.

  3. Surprised you guys didn’t mention the epic skeleton fight in the finale. But great episode, as usual.

    • And by great episode I meant great podcast as usual. Keep it up SR!

  4. I along with Rob liked Hansel/Gretel WH but I felt(and the people ive shown it to agree) the biggest flaw was the R rating, especially domestically where that is frowned upon most by parents and makes/breaks going to see it.
Pg-13 is the way to go, the film wasnt like gory nor was there major nudity, surprisingly tasteful and doesnt come from the main lead, so it has to be because of all the swearing, so much unnecessary swearing, needless “f*cks” that feel out of place in an otherwise solid supernatural and fun what if movie

Its actually entertaining to see competent characters hunting down monsters in the woods.
Hansel/Gretel WH is now a staple halloween film for me

    • Also I was reminded that Genma Arterton isnt wonder woman……aaah…

  5. 1. Transformers: Age of Extinction
    2. Think Like a Man Too
    3. How to Train Your Dragon 2
    4. 22 Jump Street
    5. Jersey Boys
    [...]
    10. Godzilla

  6. I love the podcast and the incredible job you guys do with staying on top of so many topics. But, a part of me dies whenever you guys butcher the Game of Thrones/Ice and Fire mythos (names, histories, back stories, etc.) – LOL.

At any rate, it’s forgivable given the complexity and vastness of the story. :) Thanks for producing such a solid podcast.

  7. Pirates of the Caribbean was fantastic! I loved it so much that I dragged some more friends into the theater, seeing it two more times. Pirates 2 & 3 were absolutely terrible, though. A convoluted CGI laden mess that proved that the producers didn’t understand the reasons for the first movie’s success at all. These overblown cash grabs completely failed to recapture the magic. After that I never bothered with Stranger Tides. For me the first Pirates is the only movie in the franchise, the rest simply doesn’t exist.

The next film should use the movie title generator that seems to be so popular these days to its full effect: Dawn of the Pirates of the Caribbean: Revenge of the Rise of the Reckoning’s Retributional Retaliation Beyond Redemption.

As for Hansel & Gretel vs. Pirates: Ben, you are crazy! :D You ask how they can improve on the former franchise? Well, what can they do to improve the Pirates franchise? The only way would be going back to the roots, but they won’t do that, because in the producer’s minds there is only one way to go: bigger and louder, which is exactly the wrong direction for the Pirates movies. And Edward in Hansel & Gretel looked awesome! A perfect practical effect that looked so much better and real than any CGI could. Ben, you would be a wonderful executive. With that “make everything CGI” and “Cancel that show” attitude you’d fit right in with the other suits who don’t appreciate the art of the trade. :D ;)

Well, Ant… if you wouldn’t look at your phone all the time you wouldn’t have missed how you favourite character got a crossbow bolt shot right through his face when he tried to board the ship with Sanza in episode 3. ;)

Oh yes, please! Full Marky Mark mode for the Transformers podcast. That would be so awesome!

    • “Marky Mark Mode” – I like it!

      • The original guy who played Daario is supposedly up for the new Transporter role and that is why he left the role.

  8. Did none of you watch Pirates 4? It was about the fountain of youth. And it wasnt that bad, just way lower key compared to the bloated 3rd finale.

    • Oh ya, and a Mermaid or something. That’s how memorable that movie is, lol.

  9. B.O.B.
    #1 Transformers: Age of Extinction
#2 Think Like a Man Too
    #3 22 Jump Street
#4 How to Train Your Dragon 2
    #5 Jersey Boys
    #10 Chef

  10. Loved hearing you guys talk Game of Thrones! I died laughing hearing you guys try to figure out why Daario was replaced. It was because they are rebooting the Transporter franchise with him leading it. I also enjoyed the live call- hearing you guys converse with the person interested in asking the question added some depth to the conversation. I wonder if you might ever do a special episode where you took live questions and discussed them. Hmmm…maybe for your 200th episode.

  11. Great episode like always!
But how the heck did you guys MISS discussing Tyrion’s arc from the finale?! Some of the best acting and character moments from Dinklage and Dance.
