A slew of character breakdowns for 20th Century Fox's Gambit movie had popped up online. The upcoming X-Men spinoff film has been stuck in development hell for several years, ever since it was announced in 2014, even though the studio and the franchise's producers have had a keen interest in bringing Remy LeBeau's story to the big screen. And now, thanks to the recent success of Tim Miller's Deadpool and James Mangold's Logan, Gambit is finally moving forward.

Gore Verbinski, who directed the first three installments in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean series, has signed on to helm Gambit - following the departure of Rupert Wyatt in 2015 and Doug Liman in 2016 - with Channing Tatum playing the eponymous mutant (instead of Taylor Kitsch, who played the character in Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine). The actor has been attached to the role ever since the film was first announced, and he remains committed to bringing Gambit's story to life when the movie finally hits theaters in February 2019. If the studio plans on meeting their scheduled release date, then the production team should be gearing up to begin principal photography, which means we should start to receive the first wave of casting news relatively soon.

The first thing that stands out from this list is the character description for "Mariya", who's most likely Bella Donna Boudreaux. For those that don't know, Léa Seydoux had reportedly joined the spinoff movie as Boudreaux in 2015, though with the film being constantly delayed, it's possible that Seydoux has long since abandoned the gig. If that's the case, then the female lead is currently up for grabs. As for the other characters, it's certainly possible that "Lewis" is actually the supervillain Mr. Sinister, the character Daniel Craig was rumored to be playing, with "Carissa" possibly being a younger Candra, the film's rumored villain.

Considering that the studio still has some time left before Gambit enters production, we may not get any official casting news until the cameras start rolling. Until then, it's anyone's guess who the character breakdowns are for as well as who will be playing them.
