Funko is taking fans back to the Grid with a line of glow-in-the-dark figures spotlighting Tron and the characters from the film. The sci-fi classic premiered 35 years ago in 1982, while a sequel followed in 2010 the film series hasn't seen any further action since. From its music to its distinctive look, Tron has a lot of fans and these toys are a welcome surprise. Featuring Tron and Sark, the epic dueling programs encountered by protagonist Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges). Check out their Funko prototypes below.

Immersed in a world of glowing lines and unusual colors, these Funkos perfectly encapsulate the classic film. Both Funkos feature discs from their Grid battle and the ability to glow in the dark. As with so many Fuko Pop! figures, there will be a 1-in-6 chase variant for the diehard collector who just has to have every figure. According to Funko, you'll be able to return to the Grid in the fall.

While the original Tron grossed only $33 million in 1982, the sequel grossed $172 million. A third film in the franchise was scrapped in favor of a reboot. According to director Joesph Kosinski, the third Tron film would have brought the characters from the Grid out into the real world. In the wake of Disney's plans for Star Wars and Marvel, however, original science fiction seems to have taken a back seat to the more well-known properties with a proven fan following.

Disney does have another reboot in the works, however, and the brand is far from gone in the company's eyes, as Disney Parks has a Tron ride, mimicking the famous light cycle race, coming to the Walt Disney World theme park in Florida. What that means for the future of the Tron franchise remains to be seen. After all, in a world where Star Wars grossed $2.06 billion at the box office, it seems unlikely that the studio might invest a lot of time in a franchise beyond regulating the licenses to other parties.

However, it could be a perfect opportunity to build the cult franchise into something with real staying power. What happens with a reboot and the film's future remains to be seen, but there is clearly a market for fans who want to return to the Grid. These toys prove it.
