Last week’s episode of Fringe had fans on the edge of their seats as other-world Walter, dubbed by John Noble as Walternate, appeared in Peter’s hotel room.

It appears the “bad guys” following Peter were actually sent by Walternate.

Following that big reveal, I can only assume what’s going to happen from there: Peter goes back to the alternate universe and Walter goes after him with the entire Fringe team in tow. While my description is anything but exciting, I have no doubt that this two-part season finale will be one of the best episodes of Fringe ever.

Although, it’s going to be hard - as the time-traveling love-story episode was absolutely brilliant.

Take a look at the more exciting, official, description of the episodes from Fox:

Over There: Part 1

In part one of the two-part, two-night second season finale, Walter and Olivia travel to the parallel universe, and the anticipated face-off between Walter Bishop and William Bell occurs.

Over There: Part 2

In the second part of the two-part season finale, sacrifices will be made and both universes may never be the same again after Walter and Olivia visit the "other side."

Alright, maybe it wasn't that much more exciting, but in my description I failed to mention the showdown between Walter Bishop and William Bell. Considering this is the first time that John Noble and Leoard Nimoy have shared the same screen, I'm expecting to see something amazing.

While many will be tuning in to see what goes down between Walter and Peter (or the showdown between Walter Bishop and William Bell), there’s another reason to tune in… and it’s extremely monumental. Fringe will be Leonard Nimoy’s final acting performance.

After next week’s episode, Nimoy will be retiring from acting. In case you’re wondering why someone like Nimoy would choose to guest-star in a brand new series, he sums it up pretty nicely with this statement:

"Since J.J. Abrams revived the Star Trek franchise, I felt I owed him something and I'm glad I did it because he promised me a good story, and it was."

If Leonard Nimoy says it's a good story, I have to believe him... don't I?

Are you excited about the two-part Fringe season finale? Will Leonard Nimoy's performance live up to all your expectations? What are you hoping to see in the showdown between Walter and Walternate?
