It started off completely mysterious and shrouded in mystery but as time has went on and we get closer and closer to its summer 2010 release date, Christopher Nolan’s Inception has had more and more marketing materials and tidbits if information released for it.

We’ve had a couple of trailers, images, posters and even a viral marketing campaign that allows the more eager fans out there to uncover more to ramp up anticipation before the movie comes out.

Today we have four new images for Inception to add to the mixt, some of which were released officially through Entertainment Weekly‘s Summer Preview, whilst the others comes from people completing one of the games or cracking one of the codes that are part of the viral campaign.

Check out the gallery of four images below (click for bigger versions):

Okay, nothing terribly exciting but I’ll take anything that gives us any insight into the narrative of Nolan’s first film post-The Dark Knight. Is there anything else coming out this year that will be more interesting to find out what the plot is going to play out like? Some may say things like Iron Man 2 or The Last Airbender, but neither of those have the “What the hell is it?” vibe that Inception has.

Beyond the plot, Inception is worth seeing just for the cast that Nolan has assembled: Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe, Michael Caine, Tom Berenger and Tom Hardy. How’s that for a killer cast?

What do you think of the latest images from Inception? Where does the movie rank in your must-see list of 2010?

Inception opens in theaters on July 16th, 2010.

  1. I can't wait to see this movie. Great cast and Nolan is an awesome director in storyteller.

  2. As arguably the most talented director in Hollywood, Nolan leaves me worry free about the outcome of this movie. Every one of his movies are not only positively great- but they go beyond that.

We have had movies for nearly one-hundred years. It is hard to come up with anything new, original and creative. Directors, now settle for a over-done story, and change it to be their own (Twilight, Avatar, etc) It's good t have a director take this approach.

The one project he DID do that was not considered “original” was obviously his DC Comics movies. And he turned that franchise into a respectable one.

  4. His only movie that isn't an adaption is Following, until Inception comes out. That's not to say that his movies are unoriginal though.
