I suppose nobody remembers this, but when Lost first started the writers promoted the idea that they didn't know where the story was going. It was intriguing at the time because there was so much possibility...but as the series progressed a lot of viewers were lost because of how complicated the plot got. Not to say Lost isn't a great show, but it'll be interesting to see how Flashforward does in comparison since these writers do know how it ends.

I don't think i could last another 7 year series.

Although Lost has spanned years,i think the writers were very wise to not say how long they wanted the show to run for. That way, every season promised a finalé.
I think maybe the writers of Flashforward may have done themselves some harm by giving out an extended time span, because if certain episodes aren't up to scratch, people (well me at least) will think "another 6 years of this???"

They really can't afford any slip ups here!! (saying that,i'm looking forward to ep 2)

I was really impressed with the Flash Forward pilot, but I doubt it will hold my interest once the skyscrapers stop burning. It seems like the blackout event was the most interesting part of the whole story and it's now over.

You know what confuses me? How exactly will they draw out FLASHFORWARD for 3 or even 5 years when they plan on wrapping up what caused the blackout by the end of the first season?

Have they changed their plans on that idea or will this indeed be a drawn out LOST in 24 type of series that becomes a CRIME-DRAMA after season 1?

The instant I watched the show I was instantly hooked!! Keep up the good work David and co. You got a really good thing on your hands so don't screw it up.

And this is coming from someone whose a huge fan of science fiction shows and movies, video games and comics and books.

I was hesitant in getting into Flash Forward just because I thought it may be a little too much like Lost and after a strong start get a little too caught up in it's own twists and turns, but that season premiere was so impressive IMO that I think I'm gonna have to keep up with it.

I imagine they could stretch it out the way Lost did by going into the backgrounds of each character.

From a summary of the book they've made some major changes already. The book sounds very nuts & bolts Sf. They seem to be concentrating more on human relations in the series.

I loved the premier , I see a great show ahead.
I think the show could enjoy a good 3 year run but I'd be surprised if they can keep the concept interesting for 7 years.

Now that you’ve seen the first episode, join the Mosaic Collective, the website mentioned in the premier! http://bit.ly/CIEqO
For more FlashForward goodness, check out this cool application so you can have a flashforward of your own! What will your future be? http://bit.ly/80Q5w

Having read the book, I was underwhelmed. The changes made hurt the story in my opinion and they will need to work hard to change my mind.

While i enjoyed the premier, this show could easily go both ways. It could stay very intriguing or just turn into crap.

I felt like it was needing a little bit more of an edge, but i'm willing to give it more time to show me more to keep me intrigued. But i can also see it losing me pretty quickly if it doesn't throw in some good twists.

I didn't get to see all of the premiere, I missed like the first 15 or 20 minutes, but what I did see looked good. It did leave you wanting more. I think it is good that they already know how the series would end and how they can make it work whether it is really successfull or only slightly successful. How many times does that happen? Probably not much. I think that if they make it to season 2 and it goes well and season 3 starts out really well I would probably want to see it last longer.
