With The CW’s Arrow entering season 3 and its spinoff series, The Flash, set to premiere this fall, the DC television universe is quickly expanding. The Flash will be bringing titular character, also known as Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), to life, in addition to fellow DC characters Captain Cold, Firestorm, and General Wade Eiling. Meanwhile, Arrow will be introducing more characters from the comics as well, including Wildcat and Manhunter. And based on the recently released Comic-Con trailer, Ra’s al Ghul will probably be the main villain.

Speaking of the Demon's Head - a.k.a one of Batman's greatest villains - a supposed character description for al Ghul has been posted online, revealing some details about how Ra’s al Ghul may appear in the upcoming season of Arrow. Plus, a new image of Gustin in The Flash costume has been released.

According to the character description - which was first posted on Reddit (hat tip to CBM) - we can expect Arrow's Ra's al Ghul to be a “ruthless strategist, a master of martial arts, and a shaper of history.” The description goes on to characterize Ghul as “terrifying,” intelligent, and “physically imposing. Think the character of Bane from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.”

Ra's Al Ghul Casting Description Arrow Season 3

The character details are supposed to have come from the breakdown of season 3, episode 4, titled ‘The Magician’ - Arrow’s 50th episode. The description also lists Ghul as the leader of the League of Assassins (though that was already established in Arrow season 2) and says he is a major recurring character, which seems to lend credence to the idea that he'll be season 3’s main villain.

The comparison to Tom Hardy’s Bane from The Dark Knight Rises may not help Arrow’s case in differentiating itself from Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, but the character description should be taken with a grain of salt due to the manner of its release.

Ra's al Ghul Arrow Villain

Even so, the relation to Bane seems to only be in terms of physical size. Brief glimpses of Ghul from the season 3 trailer certainly depict the character as intimidating and different from The Dark Knight Rises’ Bane. Though we’ll have to wait until the villain officially debuts on Arrow this fall to see how alike the characters will be.

As for The Flash, a new image of Barry Allen’s costume was released on the show’s official Twitter, which urged villains to beware. The image (below) debuted online yesterday, which was 52 days before the premiere (a reference to The New 52, perhaps?).

Flash TV Show Costume Image

The first photos released of the Flash’s costume made the suit look much darker and armor-esque. However, in the new image, Barry’s costume looks a bit brighter, which would be truer to the comic book character's costume.
