With as many villains as there are in the DC Universe, there is a near endless supply of potential new baddies for The CW's DC-based shows. While the upcoming seasons of The FlashArrow, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow will all have "one unifying threat," they are also all likely to have some of their own individual villains thrown into the mix as well.

The Flash has always mixed in episodic, villain-of-the-week elements with its seasons' overarching narratives, and it looks like season 3 will be no exception. It has already been announced that the next season will feature Mirror Master, Doctor Alchemy, and The Top, but now one additional villain can be checked off the list: the color-coordinated Magenta.

Comic Book reports that Independence Day: Resurgence's Joey King has been cast in the role as Magenta. In addition to the humanity-vs.-aliens summer blockbuster, King has appeared in The Conjuring and season 1 of FargoShe will be making her purplish-red debut in episode 3 of The Flash's third season. Whether or not she will be a recurring character after that is not mentioned - but with Magenta having been a member of the Rogues in the comics, it is a possibility.

Magenta, a.k.a. Frances "Frankie” Kane, has the ability to create and control magnetic fields. In other words, her meta-human power is magnetism, not unlike a certain mutant with a similar color scheme over in the Marvel universe. In the comics, she was a former girlfriend of Wally West; something that could be touched upon in the TV show, now that Wally will be taking up the mantle of Kid Flash. However, with her appearance coming in the third episode, it is up in the air whether or not Wally will have made that transition yet.

There will be a new rogues gallery of villains to keep track of in season 3 of The Flash, as well as a whole new timeline to work out after season 2's dramatic plot twist ending. As long as audiences don't have to spend too much time watching Barry once again without his powers, it promises to be another exciting and action-packed season for the show. With three other shows now directly tying into it, viewers might find themselves very busy indeed when all four DC TV shows on The CW start in October.
