From the mind of Diablo Cody (who wrote the indie-success Juno) comes the teen-horror film Jennifer’s Body, starring Transformers hottie Megan Fox. The film sees Fox swap running from giant robots to preying on horny high school boys as a demon-possessed cheerleader. It sounds like a neat horror premise that promises to have a good mix of horror, raunchiness and dark/tongue-in-cheek comedy.
Today we get the first ever trailer for the film – a red-band, NSFW trailer that makes it clear what kind of film Jennifer’s Body is turning out to be.

Before the inevitable “safe” trailer for Jennifer’s Body hits the web and movie theaters, the film’s writer (Cody), director (Karyn Kusama) and producer (Jason Reitman, director of Juno) sent Shock Till You Drop the exclusive red band trailer to show off the TRUE nature of the movie. Cody, Kusama and Reitman also sent the following little FYI note along with the exclusive:
“Fox is putting a trailer of Jennifer’s Body in front of Bruno this Friday. Great, right? Only problem is it’s not our trailer. It’s kind of a straight horror preview and while we’re sure it’ll appeal to many of you, we wanted to make sure you guys got to see our cut… Lets call it the “filmmaker’s cut”. We think it captures the comedy and scares of the horror films we grew up on – a kind of nostalgia for when horror films were fun. Can’t wait to show you the whole film… In the meantime, here’s the red band trailer we wanted our fans to see.”

The Jennifer’s Body trailer has pretty much all that was expected from the movie; blood, dark humor, strong language and raunchiness – all involving good-looking 20-somethings masquerading as teens. I wasn’t sold on the movie before, not even when the set pictures (above) were released recently – but I must admit this trailer has me interested in the film now; it really reminds me of the hilarious and shocking teen horror-comedy Teeth that was released last year.

Jennifer’s Body stars Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons, Adam Brody, J.K. Simmons and Amy Sedaris. It is set to hit theaters on September 18th in the US, and on October 9th in the UK, both in 2009.

“little miss sunshine”? Her name is Diablo Cody… first one meaning “Devil”… i know its not her real name but she chose to be called devil… i think that’s a bit far then any sunshine there could be. She is hotter then megan fox on my behalf though…lol. I’ll probably watch this when it comes to that red box thing that you can rent out of…unless i hit the lotto early and then i’m just going to watch every movie in the theaters…lol.
You know what happend Jago is that I was thinking “Juno” but “Little Miss Sunshine” somehow clouded my vision. Its been a long day.
Campy cheesiness at it’s best or worst..all depends on your perspective I guess..
I dislike Megan Fox, CGI in horror films (visual effects for hooror were perfected in the Seventies, you fools!), and stories that require me to feel sympathy/pity for teenagers, so I’ll be skipping this.
