Do we know if Taylor Mane will be playing Sabertooth?

Do we have a release date for this film yet?

The last I heard, it’s not Taylor playing Sabretooth. I don’t know why not.

Liev Schreiber will play Sabertooth. This is the same actor will ran for president in The Manchurian Candidate; he also played Robert Thorn in the new Omen movie.

Maybe he’s going to be more Victor Creed than Sabertooth. IMHO, I think Tayler still would have been a better choice, but what do I know.

Maybe by the time they do X-Men Origins: Storm, we will have an R Rating. One can always hope!

There are already a couple of movies she’s in that’ll take care of that issue. ;-)

I like Wolverine, I really I adore him as a comic book character, but the way he was in the x-men movies, made me not like him so much he was like a different person. I don’t know if I can get excited about this. The only way the X-men series can redeem itself is if they introduce the Raging Cajun(gambit).

My main problem is that the X-men movies WERE a Wolverine origin story, for petes sake all they were about were wolverine. Then what character do they get even deeper into, but the one that already had 3 movies dedicated to him. To say the least I am have a short fuse with Marvel making another dang movie about a character when there are so many characters they could decide to spend their time on let along heroes that aren’t mutants. But its all about what you know people like right.

Personal but this reminds me of my dad when i was growing up. He knew nothing about me so if I ever showed the slightest interest in something It was automatically my favorite drink or candy etc. Which I think is alot like X-men. Who knows people might love an Iron fist or Luke cage movie even more, but its about giving people what they want and they can’t take chances.

Surma, I’m with you. Didn’t we already get that? But if they can’t make a profit with a Hugh Jackman movie, they probably won’t do many others.

My two least liked comic characters–Wolverine and Toad–turned out to be pretty good in the movies. But I’d like to see more of the other characters.

Based on the image above this may flush the taste of p*-whipped Wolverine from X-Men 3 from my pysche.

Wow, Vic, you are really getting in touch with your snarky side lately. (I picture you giving me the wolverine middle “finger” right now…smile)

Surma -

Totally agree with you. I joked about the first X-Men being the “Wolverine and Rogue” movie; the second being the “More Wolverine” movie; and, well, the third being a really bad “Wolverine kills the woman he loves” movie.

When I heard of the Wolverine Origins movie I really couldn’t care. Why couldn’t the third movie end with:

“for more information on Wolverine, visit your local comic book store… now onto the rest of the X-Men universe…”

Magneto has much more possibilities if done right. It feels like Wolverine became the ‘favorite’ character of the trilogy because he was crammed down our throats. Then again, I never really liked the character anyway even though I love the X-Men… go figure

Something else that bothers me is if Sabertooth has a bigger role in this movie (allegedly), but in the trilogy his role being like 5 lines and a missed-it-if-u-blinked death.

I’d hate to see Sabertooth in a big role in Origins, then reduced to mutant thug #2 in the X-Men. Just doesn’t seem right

However, IMDB lists someone playing Gambit in the cast. Interesting…. but no Kelly Hu as Deathstrike (I’d be really disappointed if she’s not in it).

Nice look for Hugh as James. With you Vic, begging for this to at least be a PG-13.

And for the guys that commented on seeing more of the Marvel universe, be patience, Marvel has control of more than 75% their universe now! So buy multiple tickets when Ironman and Hulk, insuring they kick HUGE blockbuster @ss so we can see that amazing universe come to life(the right way)in Hollywood.

I don’t know guys, but I’m really interested in this movie. Many of you think the X-Men movies were Wolverine origins but their really not. Who were his parents? What does Sabretooth have to do with his history? How old is he really? Who was the love of his life? Also, I don’t believe Sabretooth is dead; he has the same healing factor that Wolverine has.

I would hope that they push for an R-rating because you can’t get a real feel for Wolverine unless you let him go beserk.

Well, John, I don’t mean that the X-Men movies answered those questions, I just think its dumb that they wasted a movie about a whole team of people on one flipping character’s problems. They might as well have called it Wolverine: blah blah blah and then this just be a prequel to the wolverine movies.

Just imagine for me if there was a Justice League movie and the whole time all the flashbacks and any of the character progression was all about The flash. Sure we like the flash thats kinda cool, but there are a lot of characters to deal with here.

p.s. I didn’t use Superman as an example cuz he more relates to Professor X to me, that is if you have to make a comparison.

i gotta admit. ive collected the wolverine comics from the first issue. the 3 x-men movies didnt give wolverine the rawness that he deserves. it was like they installed a PG(13) chip in him.
i hope the wolverine movie gives him grit and makes him a little dirty. example. batman has been re invented , and why , cause they have given him a darker side……time for wolvie to really get his claws dirty.
cmon hugh make us aussies proud
