So I wonder which they kept more in mind “Species/Alien” or “Frankenstein?” Hopefully they took the test audience evaluation to heart and are at least recutting it. Most anyone else thinking, straight to DVD?

wow looks great.now i want to hear they are going to do a remake of creature from the black lagoon,underworld the begining,the loch by steve alten,island of dr moreau,jurassic park 4,and of course a resident evil remake like the first video game to keep it scary and not so actiony. these are what i really want to see and a hulk sequel.

Wow, thank you for the quick responses!
I’ve been extremely excited for this movie since I first read about it a couple months ago. I’m a fan of Vincenzo Natali’s work (Nothing, Cube, Cypher, Elevated). I find it very frustrating that there’s still no trailer or website for Splice yet. I’ve emailed the company that IMDB says will be distributing it in the US. Even their website has nothing…

Thanks again for taking the time to look. ^_^

I guess I’ll just have to be patient. *grumble*

As far as I can tell the creature is supposed to start off grotesque and become more beautiful, more alluring as she grows. I myself was strangely attracted to the form of the creature while simultaneously realizing that if this creature existed I may just wet myself. Del Toro, Natali: you are sick, sick men. Kudos!

I think “another creepy creature” is a young Delphine, and the “creepy living biological mass” looks like a Nessie looking towards the viewer..

Are you familiar with H.R. Giger’s art? I think that’s the point here – to make a hybrid that is somehow both alluring yet repulsive at the same time.

Really messes with your head and I think that’s the genius of this.

I wonder how many fanboys would still want to see this, if the main spiced character was an ugly dude? How many more ways, reasons and excuses are filmmakers going to find to get hot females semi naked for the camera?
