(Really) Final Wolverine Trailer
Apr 22, 2009 by Vic HoltremanCheck out the last X-Men Origins: Wolverine trailer you’ll get to see before the movie opens.

Ok, so we thought the previous Wolverine trailer we showed you was the final one… turns out it wasn’t. Fox Studios was holding out on us with one really last one before the movie opens – and I have to say that I like this one.
There’s some new footage we haven’t seen before, including (as shown in the screen grab above) an adult Logan displaying bone claws. I believe this is the first time we’ve seen this.
Check out the trailer below.
Head to Apple.com for hi-def versions of this latest trailer.
It looks like we have more Gambit in this one along with more of Liev Schreiber as Sabretooth. Say what you like about Sabretooth needing to tower over Wolverine based on the comic book versions – it doesn’t bother me and I’m loving what I’m seeing of him as the beastly nemesis to our claw-wielding hero.
I’m hoping that this turns out to be a decent movie, but I’m not betting on it. We’ll find out soon enough when X-Men Origins: Wolverine opens on May 1st.
Around the web:

Looks awesome.
I think Jackman is going to carry the whole movie and we’ll see some surprises from the supporting cast.
I saw this trailer on youtube a while ago because it apparently was shown at Comic-Con sometime in the beginning of the year or something and someone there with a video camera recorded it. I’ve thought it was the best one ever since I saw it, even with the annoyance of low quality and the screaming fans, this just reassures that it’s my favorite trailer. Looking forward to the movie, I’ll probably go see it opening day with some friends.
I think if you look at the trailer closely, you can see Jason, Strykers other son that makes an appearance in X2. Not sure, but the kid in the freezer with the multi-colored eyes really looks like him. Maybe im wrong…
damn gambit is gonna be awesome in this film.
“do you even know how to kill me?”
“Im gonna cut your head off, see if that works”
By far the best trailer, now that i think about it, with the accusations that deadpool is terrible in this flick, i just remembered, its wolverine’s origin not deadpools. Also its a movie, not the comic. Imma go see this movie regardless of what people may say cause hell its a action movie with a large percentage of my favoate mutants.
Awesome trailer, though I’m really starting to hate that music on it. I kinda feel it was overused in this one. Still looks great. Also, is it me or did they improved the special effects? Cause they seem to especially in the scene where Wolverine takes out his claws when he’s in the tank during the experiment and also in the shot of Emma Frost.
And yes, Stephen, I think it’s almost the same trailer they showed on Comic-Con
In the one they showed at one of those comic con things like what I mentioned before that was on youtube, he says god damn. I hope they use that instead of just damn, I felt it gives it a little bit more of a wolverine feel to it.
@ Iron Knight
Well except for using god damn instead of just damn at the one I saw recorded from comic con, it is the exact same. That one difference is the only difference.
In the trailer from ComiCon it goes like this,
“Do you even know how to kill me?
I’g gonna cut yer Goddam head off, see of that works.”
Dude that was more intense and awesome, I hope they dont cut that out.
That was an awesome, badass trailer. I’ll definetely see the movie on opening day.
mmmm whats with the bone claws! im confused i didnt know wolverine had grown up with them claws, just thought that they were added when he gets his adamantium put into his body. is this in the comics??
@Dean
Yes his bone claws are in the comics…….Mostly in the “Origins: Wolverine” comics from a ways back. The shot of him as a child with the bone claws is almost identical to the shot in the comics as well.
@ Dean
Wolverine has always had bone claws, he was actually supposed to be a Wolverine cub that mutated into a man, but the writers scrapped that idea. I too only thought he got claws when he got his adimantium skeleton, but according to comic references he didn’t use them that much until adult hood, and then more frequently when he got bonded with the metal. He didn’t use them as much mainly because Wolverine can’t heal bone like he does soft tissue (doubters can Wikipedia/web search that). Wolverine didn’t join Xmen (comic book wise) until 10 years later when they rebooted X-men comic series, and all of the Weapon X stuff was already done to him.
Anyway this movie looks like it will great. I wonder where I can find the score for the trailer?
I’m pretty sure that as originally created the Wolverine character did not have bone claws. I think that was added by a subsequent writer.
Vic
@ dean,
It was an unfortunate and lame retcon added in the early nineties.
I’m a fan of the idea that he was simply a healer prior to Weapon X but they didn’t go down that path in the origins comics.
As for the trailer, Gambit is my hero but what’s with the helicopter-staff move, lol.
@ Rob Keyes
Hey if you have a staff or baton (chuckle) why not twirl it.
J/K. Seriously though Gambit’s hat needs to go.
@ Vic
Yes they were supposed to be adimantium and only on his gloves, but they decided to make it part of his body so that there would not be Wolverine copycats. Forgot about that tidbit, but as far as the comic book references go they were always a part of his body.
@ Stephen and Richard
Why do I fear it has been cut out?
Oh I forgot to mention I live in Mexico and Hugh Jackman is coming to the premiere here (with red carpet), so of course I’ll try to go… just entered a few contests to win a pass… I hope I do win ’cause this would be a great experience, ja ja. Just a week away…
I can tell your from Mexico cuz you said “ja ja” lol
That trailer is one of the best I’ve seen this new X-men movie. I hope it opens with a 70 million or something.
Okay i guess
listen wolverine had bone claws but when he bacame deadly in the water stuff his bones became metal so he was bone but now hes metal
as remembering the original wolverine and having all the comics and books which took years to collect wolverine origanally had bone claws it isnt a new concept, in the ninties they tried to give a new approach and it sucked this movie and the book brought wolverine back to his origanal state as well as kept true to the fact that the hero was origanally canadian born.
