Hi, I don´t know if yu´r all from the US or something, so I feel a bit stupid now wrigthing this. However, I´m a Swedish girl and here in Sweden the movie was REALLY a hit.´Everyonesw talking about it, seeing it. I have to agree – sadly enough – that the visual effects could have been a lot better, but I still loved the movie.

And just so all know, I DIDN´T read the books before watching the film. Infact, it was the other way around.

I agree with Courtney. If you had looked at some of the other adaptions you’d realize by comparison twilight the movie is actually being very faithful to its source material (judging from the trailers and online footages we’re seen so far). Film adaptations by their nature always (and have to) differs from the books upon which they’re based. Changes are necessary in an adapting process for the movie version to be sucessful, or to work on the big screen, to say the very least. It doesn’t matter if they cut, add or change scenes as long as the central theme and the essence of the story is there. I don’t know if the movie will be hit, but the one thing i’m certain of is that if the mvoie had followed every word in the book, it would defintiely fail. Nobody wants to see and hear bella’s monologues and swooning for edward and saying how he’s the most beautiful creature in the world during the 2/3 of the movie (at least i don’t). How boring would that be?

I disagree that the movie is “soo different.” First of all, it is nearly impossible to perfectly adapt a story from page to screen. We can’t hear Bella’s thoughts, so some things have to be changed. For example, they didn’t film the months after the accident when Edward ignores Bella. How boring would that be? So they added a field trip scene to improvise. I can see it now: fellow Twilighters protesting, “that was NOT in the book!!!” But take it for what it is. The production team has more to consider than just sticking by the book. They need to make money. We all want sequels don’t we?

All things considered, I’m very impressed with how similar the movie and book seem to be.

Well, Jenn, we’re all true twilight fans and we’re certainly not “making fun of the movie” as you accused us of doing, we’re simply being objective and honest here. Just because we’re fans it doens’t mean we’re obligated to embrace and love whatever they(summit) have to offer by default, even if what they have to offer is really bad (like this poster). Also, you seemed to have misinterpreted the majority opinion here. We’re not complaining about rob’s casting as edward (i don’t think anybody is), in fact i thought (and still think) he’s the perfect choice for the role from the very moment his casting was announced. We’re complaining, however, about the technical and artistic aspect of the poster, which didn’t do the movie or rob justice IMHO. So easy on the paranoia and don’t get defensive ok? Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and sometimes they’re just telling the truth.

I have no photographic background, but I am a graphic design major and I could probably think of 20 different settings that would be better than this one. An equally low-budget movie, Blood and Chocolate, had an infinitely more interesting movie poster with a much smaller fan base.

Not that I am a fan of the movie, but the viewer gets a sense of what the movie revolves around.
I understand the artist of the Twilight poster wanted to keep with the shadowed feeling of the first poster, but definitely more emotion and thought could have been tied in. The quote “Nothing will be the same” paired with this photo makes absolutely no sense and kinda makes me what to vomit.

I am a Twilight saga fan and I do not approve of this haphazard “art”.

Now that I’ve watched every Twilight trailer, sneak peak, and interview out there (what can I say, I’m obsessed), I just want to share that I love the choices for Edward and Bella. I had my doubts at first, but now I’m convinced that they are perfect. I simply cannot wait to see this movie.

Well no, if you go to Stephenie’s site, you will see that she describes Bella and put some of her own personal experiences in there. Bella was ordinary in Pheonix, a big place. But in Forks, there weren’t as many ‘beautiful’ people, so she was able to be pretty.

i am a HUGE twilight fan!
i think rob pattinson is perfect for the part of edward.
he is extremely goreous. and im obsessed with him.
BUT bella.. i think kristin stewart is too pretty to play bella, she is supposed to be just an ordinary girl, not matter how much they “uglier” her up. she is still pretty.
that is my ONLYYY complaint..

I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE MOVIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

for fans of the book, im sure there are others who feel the same way about Edward’s look in the poster.

But I think the point of posters is to advertise to movie-goers a little about what the movie is and draw them in – This doesn’t seem to do that Again, for those who haven’t read the novels, this is meaningless and for me, a bit of a deterrent.

The newest trailer however, was much improved over the earlier ones.

Excuse me, but don’t mind me saying, that if you are truly a twilight fan, you should not be making fun of the movie, especially since you haven’t even seen it! How do you know, it could be better than anything you have ever seen before! I really am suprised that anybody would say that Robert Pattinson is not a good choice for Edward, he was a fabulous choice! Honestly, he could kick Cedric’s butt. As he said so himself. You guys are seriously twilight fans, no doubt in my mind…..

to be completely honest i love this poster, i mean sure bella looks a lil bored but edward looks almost scary which is how people see the cullens, he also looks incrediblt hot as usual.. if i hadnt read the books, i would have looked at this poster and thought “wow, i really wanna see that movie, that dude is hot”
also i think rob looks hell intense!!! which just adds to the awesomeness of the poster

the new poster is better because if im looking at it i think they’re looking at me! it makes me happy!

i think kristen stewart posed with no expression unlike robert pattinson, he looks like a true good-looking vampire.
and kirsten also looks like a little sister of robert.

But it’s just a poster, we don’t see how they act, so im looking forward on the movie. i hope they will make me pee on my pants while i’m watching it!

I will love twilight until its last book!

Hmm…my opinion is…this is hilarious! I think the complexion is good, because well, he is a vampire. But he’s supposed to be a good looking vampire. Don’t get me wrong, I think Rob make an excellent Edward, but this poster is horrible, he looks like. I can’t even explain, but the face proportion just is not right, and it looks funny…ok so I’m a bit of a joke maker (including bad ones, but bear with me) though no one probably reads these…
