According to E! Online FOX is getting ready to roll out a 24/7 Reality TV network. I find this ironic coming on the heels of my recent post wondering if Reality TV is on its way out.
Even funnier is the fact that (at least for now) programming will consist of nothing but reruns. Sure, that works for TV Land, but I can watch old episodes of I Love Lucy or The Dick Van Dyke Show over and over and they’re still funnier than 95% of the sitcoms on TV today. But reruns of reality shows?
Apparently they’ll spice things up with behind the scenes footage and “expert” commentary. What the heck is a Reality TV expert, anyway? Sounds like a terrible job.
If you’re one of the unlucky ones, you’ll be able to begin watching this on May 24th.

That’s pretty typical for Fox — a day late and a dollar short. I don’t see how this can do anything other than fade quickly away into the sunset. Who would enjoy such a channel, other than reality TV junkies? How many reality TV junkies are out there, anyway? I don’t know a single one myself. (And no, watching The Apprentice and Survivor in the same week does not mean you’re a reality TV junkie.)
