Fight Like A ‘Ninja Assassin’

Published 6 years ago by

ninja assassin Fight Like A Ninja AssassinThis is a must watch if you have any interest at all in action films, martial arts, sword combat or parkour. /Film got a hold of a behind-the-scenes video of the fight choreography training for the upcoming Ninja Assassin movie.

The video features the infamous 87 Eleven stunt performing/coordination and martial arts training group who also worked on hit action movies 300, the Bourne films and this year’s Watchmen (hopefully this year). They do amazing work and are becoming more and more involved in some of the biggest action films around.

Ninja Assassin is the story of one of the world’s best assassins, Raizo (played by Korean pop star, Rain) who was trained to kill by a secret organization that later executes his best friend. Naturally, Raizo must avenge his friend’s death and the blood bath ensues.

Take a look at some of the action sequences you can expect to see in the film:

And that’s just the fight training! This movie is going to be bad ass and I’m definitely going to see it just based on this.

The action sequences look incredible and they’re obviously putting tons of work into it to make it flow and look real – “real” as in based on earth’s gravity and people actually performing these moves naturally and not like in Romeo Must Die or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon where a person can jump and kick multiple people while changing and reversing his direction in midair. You know what I Mean!

Does this make you want to see the film?

Ninja Assassin does not have a confirmed release date as of yet but is expected to hit theaters in the second half of 2009. It is directed by James McTeigue (Speed Racer, V for Vendetta).

  1. Looks like my gym workout. Sorta. :-P

  2. Wow. Even if the rest of the movie isn’t very good the action is sure to be fantastic. These guys really know their stuff. I would love to see some more parkour used subtly in the fight scenes though. Can’t wait for a trailer.

  3. Just watching this training video got me truly excited for this picture, AND, they kept the camera following the action!
No Bourne-style, now 007 quick edits! To think, how horrible it would be if they choose that editing route instead, all the work would be for nothing!

  4. im sold

    ticket for me!

  5. They win at life. I’d love to be able to do just a fraction of what even the least skilled there is capable of.

  6. The most part of the video shows training of Rain in the poster of this post.
He did the most actions in this movie by himself.

However, he was not an action actor but a famous singer and Asian RomCom megastar.
He lost over 13 kg for this movie.
I wish his effort would work.

  7. This movie looks like it will be AWESOME! I can’t wait for it to be released. I’m a little bias because I am a huge fan of Rain & his work.

  8. This film is going to be SICK!!! Can’t wait.

  9. this looks interesting. there haven’t been a ninja movie in a long time. i cant wait to see rain and randall duk kim in action.

  10. 비까면 사살

    I’M THERE.

  12. Rain, I don’t like a lot of violence or even martial arts, but my family and I will be there the opening night to support you. This is going to be one damn great action movie. You are going to be bigger than jackie Chan or any action star. You will take Hollywood by storm and become a truly multi-talented international star. You can sing, dance, and having watched your three/four Korean movies/dramas on the internet, you are a great dramatic actor. That’s what lot of people don’t know. You have amazing dramatic range and I don’t even know an American artist who can do everything that you do. All of Asia can’t be wrong and Americans will be mesmerized by you. Rain already has a tremendous fan base in the U.S., not just with Asian Americans

  13. Ooohh “ninja”… this is bound to attract every high school and below kid in town! lol

I’m a ninja, I wear cool BLACK clothes and I sneak around throwing pointy stars, oooooohhhhh

  14. I’m kidding around of course, saw this video a while back, pretty impressive for a pop star, wonder if he’s done any martial arts on his own before or what.

I actually prefer the more grounded martial arts because you’re more likely to be able to use those in a real fight. Like the Wing Chun in Ip Man, damn that movie was so awesome…

  15. I love martial arts , I love good sword fights in movies , I love parkour and I love action movies.
I just watched a great trailer for this one , I sooooooooooooo want to see this one now.

do we have a release date yet ?

  16. The trailer for this flick is out on Yahoo movies in the HD section. Looks decent aside fromthe crap CGI weapon effects.

  17. YEAH!!! want to watch that movie!!! rain is there…. I’m an avid fan of him… And I’m so happy he has a movie …upcoming movie… ninja assassin… You rock!!!
