Following the release of the best-selling book-turned movie Fifty Shades of Grey in 2015, Fifty Shades Darker is all set to go further into the erotic-romance series of stories by British author E.L. James with plenty of aplomb and bravado. Focusing on the continuing love affair between S&M playboy Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and his submissive paramour Anastasia Steel (Dakota Johnson), the new movie is sure to attract significant attention at the box office when it sees theatrical release later next year.

Despite the fact that Fifty Shades of Grey was met with a noticeable barrage of negative critical response (including five Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Combo), the movie performed significantly well when it came to selling tickets. On that note, things are looking up for Dornan and Johnson as they make their way to appearing in Fifty Shades Darker, as evidenced by the first official poster.

In the poster featured below, fans of the Fifty Shades feature franchise can get their first tantalizing look at all of the intrigue and drama soon to unfold around Anastasia and Christian as the two lovers are enigmatically called upon to "slip into something a shade darker." In addition, the above video featured above offers a brief glance at the first full-length trailer for Fifty Shades Darker, which will be released online tomorrow (at the time of writing this).

Fans of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation are no doubt eager to see another entry in the erotic drama series, making Fifty Shades Darker (arguably) one of the first big movie "events" in 2017. Fifty Shades Darker is certainly not holding back on any of the kinky innuendo that has served as its premiere calling card thus far, and with any luck those who enjoyed the first film will find plenty more to like with the second.

James' series of novels took the world by storm upon initial publication in 2011, and by the looks of things the Fifty Shades Darker movie is going to make sure that their popularity won't be fading away any time soon. For now, potential viewers can bide their time for the film's theatrical release in early 2017, and await the first trailer due out online shortly.
