Feet To Get Loose Next Year

There were three dance films in the 80’s worth remembering and no, Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo is NOT one of them. Flashdance, Footloose and Dirty Dancing are the three I’m talking about. Flashdance and Dirty Dancing each won an Oscar and Footloose was nominated for 2. Not to be outdone, Footloose will try again next year.

Screen Rant’s Kofi Outlaw last reported that Paramount Pictures was pushing to finish a script on a Footloose remake before the SAG strike last year. At the time, Zac Efron was attached to the Kenny Ortega-directed remake but has since dropped out, leaving the lead role, made famous by Kevin Bacon, vacant.

This, however, has not damped the optimistic spirits over at Paramount since they have set a June 18, 2010 date for the remake’s release. The new version is set to have all new songs mixed with the original soundtrack, which is sure to include an up-to-date remix of Kenny Loggins’ smash hit Footloose.
