NBC’s new web series FCU: Fact Checkers Unit follows dedicated celebrity fact checkers, Russell (Peter Karinen) and Dylan (Brian Sacca), as they will go to any lengths to make sure that every fact printed in the show’s fictional publication, “Dictum Magazine,” is indeed true.
The FCU: Fact Checkers web series is based on Karinen and Sacca’s hit short film of the same name, which became a hit at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. In it, Russell and Dylan were forced to track down the elusive Bill Murray in an attempt to confirm whether or not Murray drinks warm milk before going to bed.
In this week’s episode, entitled “Turn Up the Heater with Jon Heder,” the fact-checking duo must track down Napoleon Dynamite and Blades of Glory star Jon Heder in an attempt to confirm the rumor that Heder may be “expanding his horizons” to become the world’s newest exercise guru.
Previous guest stars in this season have been Luke Perry (Beverly Hills 90210), Alex Trebek (Jeopardy), Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction) and Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights).

Aside from FCU: Fact Checkers, Karinen and Sacca are currently developing two original screenplays – or as they put it, “almost-original screenplays” – with Ben Stiller’s Red Hours Films and Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer.
You can check out previous episodes by visiting the official FCU: Fact Checkers Unit website. New episodes are released every Tuesday.

FACT: Heder is always funny, and this is no exception. I still love the line in the other episode where the guy calls the FACT CHECKERS “FART CHECKERS.” Yes, I’m as mature as an 11-year-old. Get over it.
