After FaZe Jarvis was seemingly banned from Fortnite for a second time last week, the controversial streamer revealed that his return to Fortnite was all an elaborate prank designed to gain the streamer some clout. While FaZe Jarvis can claim "it was just a prank, bro," Epic Games does not take kindly to clout chasers regardless of their status, as it solidified in a recent rule change.

On September 11th, FaZe Jarvis announced that he would be returning to streaming Fortnite even though he was still banned from the game. Jarvis has been banned from Fortnite for over 10 months for having made a YouTube video that featured the streamer playing with an aimbot. Since then, Jarvis' fans have begged Fortnite to unban him, and Jarvis even posted a teary-eyed apology video. Eventually, Jarvis took matters into his own hands, creating a second Fortnite account and announcing that he would be streaming Fortnite for the first time in nearly a year. Just 15 minutes into his stream, Fortnite pulled the plug and banned Jarvis once again.

At least, that's how it seemed until FaZe Jarvis posted one of his signature over-the-top vlogs explaining how his return to streaming was all a charade designed to trick the internet into thinking he had played Fortnite while still being banned. The video went over each step of Jarvis' master plan and explained how Jarvis was not the one who was playing during the stream. According to Jarvis, the intention of the prank was not to get banned again, but to trick the internet into believing that he was playing again. In fact, Jarvis says, it was a different streamer playing off-camera while Jarvis simply went through the motions of participating in the match. Regardless, the prank ended with some serious repercussions.

Fortnite did end up banning the account Jarvis claimed to be using, but it wasn't just Jarvis who was banned. Instead, the entire Clout House, which houses numerous FaZe members, was IP banned from playing Fortnite. Jarvis' video shows that multiple members of FaZe Clan were in on the prank and were watching his stream with excitement. At the beginning of Season 4, Fortnite implemented a new rule that bans players who are clout farming by pretending to be banned or cheating. Even if they were not the ones on camera during the stream, the rest of the Clout House deserved to be banned for encouraging Jarvis to clout farm.

Faking the ban would have been a better prank than faking playing. The prank that Jarvis pulled off wasn't that great of a prank, to begin with. Jarvis' big reveal was that he wasn't the one who was actually playing on stream, as if there would have been different repercussions if he was the one who was actually playing. What this prank has done has recklessly put other content creators' careers in jeopardy. FaZe Jarvis won't be playing Fortnite anytime soon, and hopefully this anticlimactic stunt doesn't encourage him to start his own prank channel.
