Father's Day is a day to honor our dads - the men who helped bring us into the world and teach us survive it. To celebrate the holiday, we at Screen Rant compiled a list of 10 cinematic fathers who kick serious ass. Whether these proud papas are attempting to save their children or trying to control the intergalactic universe, these dads are always willing to engage in a fight to protect their children (and families) when they are in danger.
This list is for all of the fathers out there who kick ass in real life, including my own dad. Happy Father's Day - and enjoy!
I never understand the big deal about Jack Bauer. What, you wanted Liam Neeson to scream at people more? I mean, Jack Bauer can’t even hold the handgun correctly. Between my friends and I we named that incorrect method the “Jack Bauer.” It used to be referred to as the “Cup and Saucer.” Not too flattering I think… lol
Five other top movie Dads: Don Vito Corleone (The Godfather I & II) Roger Murtaugh (Lethal Weapon), Chingachgook (Last of the Mohicans), FBI Agent Will Graham (Manhunter, 1986, The Red Dragon), and Michael Sullivan (Road to Perdition)
Anyone mentioned Paul Blart: Mall Cop? Id like to add Freddy got a Father’s Day kiss by his daughter just before he was killed off in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. And id like to think that John Schneider’s Jonathan Kent from Smallville should get honorable mention.
Shame it’s film only, because if there is one dad more dangerous and kick ass-edly awesome than Liam Neeson in Taken, it would be Jack Bauer.

Every time he holds a gun? Over 8 seasons?
Jack Bauer is awesome.
I’m going to be the outlier here: Gregory Peck’s Atticus Finch.

Oh Snap that’s a good one
Clyde Shelton from Law Abiding Citizen…?
What about “Babykart” the japanese samourai movie. That’s the first one I thought about when I read your title.
