Picture this: You walk into a special screening of The Fate of the Furious. You grab some popcorn. Everyone is chill. The vibe feels normal. Then, you are directed to sit in a suped-up racer car, which seems gimmicky, but you go along with it. The movie starts, and BAM! Your driver steps on the gas and you are suddenly a part of a high speed chase.

The scenario could be one straight out of your dreams, but this is no fantasy. Two lucky fans were surprised with this reality thanks to XFinity, who is promoting their new ultra-high-speed broadband Gigabit Internet service. Sad you missed out? Don’t fret. The whole event was caught on tape and is available for viewing now.

The surprise is a treat to watch, as the fans, Joey and Michele (which, side note, are the perfect blind contestant names) follow the setup, hilariously unaware of what is about to happen. Producers direct them to take a seat in the cars “straight from the set” and Joey and Michele, popcorn in tow, gladly climb on in. The drivers deliver A+ acting, pretending to accidentally start the engine, to which Joey’s smile drops, asking, “Did you just start that?” He looks towards the producers, worried they will get in trouble. Insert cheeky all-knowing grin here.

Michele catches on after being handed a protective helmet, exclaiming, “I feel like you’re in on this!” The garage door opens and the cars speed off...actually, scratch that, the garage doors don’t open and the cars drive straight through them, kicking off the Hollywood car chase, complete with lots of destruction. They drive through a flower shop, scaffolding, fire and explosions, perfectly mimicking The Rock and Vin Diesel’s epic car chase scene in the new film. Michele’s driver tells her, “We gotta get em!” To which she replies, “What do you mean ‘get ‘em??’” Bleeped-out expletives fly as Michele and Joey ride along is disbelief, shouting, “What?” and “What is happening?”

The sequence ends and the two participants sit in total wide-eyed bliss, which is hopefully how we will feel in theaters when we watch the car chases ourselves on the big screen. The Fate of the Furious is the eighth installment in the franchise, and the story picks up two years after the previous film leaves off. In the new adventure, we follow Dom (Vin Diesel) as he turns against the family when he meets the mysterious Cipher (Charlize Theron). Let the explosions commence.
