Fast & Furious 7 – officially titled Furious 7– is finally arriving in theaters in 2015, having been delayed from its original 2014 release due to the tragic death of star Paul Walker, and all the resulting technical challenges that forced filmmakers to come up with unorthodox ways of finishing Walker’s performance.
With this seventh installment of the gear-head crime heist action series, fans will also be getting new creative vision, as Conjuring director James Wan takes over for Justin Lin, director of Fast and the Furious 3 – 6.
We recently learned that we’ll finally see the Furious 7 trailer next week – and as has become tradition for this franchise, we’re being teased with a quick, Vine-style preview of what the action and ensemble drama of Furious 7 will be all about.
The Fast & Furious cast and producers have been some of the most savvy in the modern era of franchise movie making when it comes to social media promotion, often giving fans behind-the-scenes looks or trailer teases from Vine cuts such as the one above.
Franchise leading man Vin Diesel is particularly renowned for his social media hustle; a very popular Facebook page helped put the star on Marvel’s radar before the studio ultimately cast him in Guardians of the Galaxy.
While the footage admittedly doesn’t show much, it is nonetheless nice to see Paul Walker alive and in the flesh on set having fun with this Fast family – or just seeing the cast in general smiling and having fun in the process of making the movie. There are even teases of some pretty sick action (see: Michelle Rodriguez vs. Ronda Rousey) and all in all, it’s basically everything fans of this franchise want – particularly out of their last outing with Walker.
Be sure to check back next week for the full Furious 7 trailer.
Furious 7 will be in theaters on April 10, 2015.
