New ‘Fast & Furious 7′ & ‘Hercules’ Images: Dwayne Johnson is Huge Throughout History

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s career isn’t showing any signs of slowing down, and two big upcoming entries on his always-crowded slate are Fast & Furious 7 and Brett Ratner’s Hercules movie, based on the Hercules: The Thracian Wars graphic novel.

Today we have images of The Rock on the sets of both of the aforementioned projects looking hard as… well, a rock, really. Check out the photos below, which Johnson sent out via his own Twitter account:

Hercules: The Thracian Wars looks upon the latter life of Hercules (as opposed to the origin story featured in a competing film, Hercules: The Legend Begins). After his twelve famous labors and much personal loss, Hercules is a man living for nothing but death and combat, accompanied by a squad of equally hardened warriors. When his team is hired by the king of Thrace (John Hurt) to train the greatest army the world has seen, Hercules must confront what he has become – and the hero he could perhaps be once more.

If you haven’t already seen it, other set images reveal an epic-looking action film and a monstrously huge Johnson (snicker) just dwarfing Kellan Lutz’ slimmer, trimmer version of Hercules….

It is yet unclear just how much screen time Johnson will get in Fast & Furious 7but that clearly isn’t stopping him from helping to promote the hell out of film via social media, a la franchise star Vin Diesel. A lot of eyes are on this particular installment since there will be a changing of the directorial guard, with parts 3 – 6 director Justin Lin handing the wheel over to Conjuring director James Wan.

The story will tie all of the franchise installments (including red-headed stepchild Tokyo Drift) together with a purported “’70s-style revenge thriller” featuring Jason Statham as the vengeance-bent brother of Luke Evans’ big baddie from Fast & Furious 6. The cast is as swollen as ever, with all the old faces being joined by the likes of Statham, Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell.

It won’t end there, either: Fast & Furious 8 9 are also already slated to be made.

Fast & Furious 7 will be in theaters July 11, 2014

Hercules will be in theaters on July 25, 2014.

  2. I saw the rock in 1998 we he was still wrestling for wwe which back then was still wwf. Saw him get out of the car when he and the rest of the nation of domination arrived at the Hampton (VA) coliseum. He was big back then, but The dude is really massive as s**t now. Ah yes! The good ol days when wrestling was fun. Now-meh!

    • oh snap you jus brought back some memories of D Lo Brown hahahaha

  3. aw man, 2 Dwayne Johnson films in July? I dont know if Ill be able to go to both!!! Well im definitely seeing F&F7 in theaters.

  4. 8 & 9 ? Sheesh…I like the franchise, but they are milking the sh&t out of it. Im curious about how the plot in these future movies are gonna hold up.

  5. LOL.

Must be his God given genetics.

    • Yes. Yes that’s it ;)

      • Actually, yes, it probably is. He’s half Samoan and he’s always been in the 270+lb range. It’s not that hard for a naturally big guy to get bigger and more cut simply by upping the protein intake and weightlifting regimen.

  6. This Hercules story sounds much like the Conan story in his later years. I’d still like to see them do a story of when Conan took a kingdom with his sword and expanded it. This Hercules would kind of put Johnson out of being an older Conan just because it would seem too close. Maybe the guy who played him in that not too good version of Conan from a couple years ago. Come on Hollywood….Here’s something you can do an original script to…

  7. That’s from Fast 6, not Fast 7. Also he didn’t release any shot photos in that particular tweet, it’s his habit of posting tweets along-with with snaps. If you’re following Johnson on tweeter and facebook, you will know that. When he releases set photos, he does mention them in his tweets/statuses.
