[Watch the Fast and Furious 6 Trailer HERE!]

Fast & Furious 6 is one of our most anticipated 2013 releases, building on the success of the previous installment in Paul Walker and Vin Diesel’s peddle-to-the-metal franchise, Fast Five (which incorporates Dwayne Johnson into the high-octane proceedings). Justin Lin’s back directing for the fourth time in the series, with new onscreen additions including Luke Evans (Immortals) and Gina Carano (Haywire); not to mention, the return of Michelle Rodriguez as Dom’s presumed-dead sweetheart Letty.

The first footage from F&F 6 premieres this weekend, during the Super Bowl XLVII. However, in the meantime, we can offer the movie’s official synopsis, based on the script penned by Chris Morgan (who’s been writing for the franchise since Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, which is also when Lin joined the party).

Here is the full rundown of the Fast & Furious 6 plot:

Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson lead the returning cast of all-stars as the global blockbuster franchise built on speed races to its next continent in “Fast & Furious 6.” Reuniting for their most high-stakes adventure yet, fan favorites Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Elsa Pataky are joined by badass series newcomers Luke Evans and Gina Carano.

Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.

Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.

Building on the worldwide blockbuster success of Fast Five and taking the action, stunts and narrative to even greater heights, “Fast & Furious 6″ sees director Justin Lin back behind the camera for the fourth time. He is supported by longtime producers Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel, who welcome producer Clayton Townsend back to the series.

Judging by the official synopsis, Fast & Furious 6 is traversing the familiar “one last job” heist-thriller genre territory, which is in keeping with Universal chairman Adam Fogelson’s past comments about wanting to continue the series’ evolution - moving from just presenting car-racing thrills to emulating classic European heist adventures (The French Connection, Italian Job, etc.) – and building on the Ocean’s Eleven-style plot and character mechanics integrated into Fast Five.

The result? Hopefully, a high-stakes romp featuring picturesque European scenery, impressively-staged vehicle chase sequences and an attractive multi-cultural cast. You can count us in on the fun.

Look for Fast & Furious 6 in U.S. theaters on May 24th, 2013.

  1. sounds epic. but i know they are planning one more after this. so i hope they dont end it on a cliffhanger. and i wonder if this one will lead into tokyo drift or if they are keeping that for the end of 7? SO excited for this one though. cant believe we had to wait this long for a trailer.

  2. Even though, these films are highly successful. They are still underrated in a way.

  3. i was pleasently suprised with 4 which got me back into the series but when 5 came out i blown away. even my wife left the theater was happy we saw it. it was a great hesit movie with characters that i mostly have always enjoyed. and now 6 sounds awesome! cant wait a trailer to come out.

    • @The Mighty Avenger.

But here is the question…Did you wife leave the theater happy because she was The Rock, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker?
      :)

      NINJA VANISH :::POOF:::

  4. i just want to know the reason Letty did not contact Dom in all that time..

    • Nah man that’s could be soooo funny

  5. loved fast five and cant wait to see letty again!!

  6. 1 was awesome
    2 and 3 I haven’t seen
4 was disappointing, but still decent
5 was good, I was pleasantly surprised
6 looks very promising, hope it can deliver

  7. 1 was cool
    2, was okay,
    3, terrible.
4, Bad, but better than 3.
    5, Blown away!
6, All I know is there’s a battle tank, so it should be good.

    • So, Wally?

If Four was Bad,but better than 3, why is it 4 and not 3?

      • Wally taled about the ORDER of the movies.
The first one – The Fast and The Furious
The second one – 2 Fast and 2 Furious
The third one – The Fast and The Furious – Tokyo Drift
The fourth one – Fast and Furious
The fifth one – Fast Five
And the one that just got aired – the sixth one – Fast and Furious 6

  8. I’ll be honest I’m not the biggest fast and furious fan the series never had that much appeal to me, i haven’t seen that many movies in the series but the ones I have seen have been pretty entertaining. I watched the dirt one on DVD and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would I think Vin Diesel is actually a pretty good actor I wish he did different roles even if they are comedic roles, I even liked him in the pacifier. But anyway so I thought the Firestone was really good I heard bad things about 2-4 I remember watching a preview for 2 fast 2 furious and just thinking that it looked terrible. I heard Tokyo drift was really bad and the only things I have heard about 4 is from Wally who says that is bad but not as bad as three. Now as for 5 I only say some of it and didnt enjoy it but let me be honest i thik it was because I didn’t see it with a friend all odd was watch some of it on an iPad but the thing with movies like this is that they to me are good time movies to see with friends so if I watched it with a friend maybe u would have liked it more, I did think Johnson was a bada** in the movie though it’s like tommy lee jones vs Harrison Fordin the fugitive. The description for this movie sounds pretty good but the only down side is that I thinkmim gonna miss the Dwayne Johnson versus Vin Diesel thing but Luke evans is a pretty good actress and Michelle Rodriguez and Giana Carano are both very hot to me.

  9. 1: Fast Five (Amazing!)
2: The Fast and the Furious (Pretty good, nostalgia)
3: 2 Fast 2 Furious (Kind of cheesy, but still very enjoyable)
4: Fast and Furious (Good, nice to see Dom, Brian and Mia again)
5: Tokyo Drift (Ok, not as good without the gang but still an ok film)

Hopefully Fast & Furious 6 is up there with the original and Fast Five!

    • Yeah but tokyo drift was the last one out of all seasons, so i guess it was more pursweyed on a new lifestlye and more about han!
      :)

  10. i love the franchise. Justin Lin improves with each feature. I want to see how the last movie (lets call it FF7) will lead into tokyo drift…

  11. The Fast & The Furious movies are very underrated in my opinion also. The second and third films were kinda bad, but Fast Five was great, the best in the series to me. Now if you don’t like these movies that cool, but sometimes people are just never happy these days. People complain about the fact that there are so many reboots, and now people complain that a franchise lasting this long. I’m always open to more Fast Furious movies if they’re as good as Fast Five.

    • And I like the idea of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character working with Dom again, I just don’t see how if their crew is successful with bringing down Letty’s new crew, how will they pump out more stories once they are no longer wanted men.

  12. I’m glad they switched from just racing stunts to heist/Ocean 11 style. I stopped watching the Fast series after Tokyo Drift but a friend told me to check out Fast Five (plus it had the Rock).

It was surprisingly good (funny how the Rock made Vin look small) and I’m looking forward to Fast 6 and 7.

  13. i wish they had put some spoiler tags in there somewhere, i mean i knew letty was going to be in this one because of the mid credits teaser at the end of 5 but whoever wrote this article diddnt have to go ahead and tell me exactly where and how she was going to return :/ sheesh

  14. I was very surprised that I liked Fast Five so much. I am really looking forward to Six.

  15. The Fast and The Furious was a great cool movie which still offers entertainment just for what it is and due to added nostalgia, as others have expresses previously. It is not necessarily a great literary or artistic film that is Oscar worthy, but the film is a cool and fun foremost that calls back to drive-in serials and adventure in an urban story. It was a fun piece of cinema whose characters are cool and the visuals are slick, yet there is underlining depth to these characters, even if its on the surface, that teases to larger story and world. It was decent action racing film and a great start to a franchise.

2 Fast 2 Furious is still a fun and potentially enjoying film even though it was a bit of a let down after the first movie. The film is a cool film even if it just a niche fan base but still decent. The characters are still fun but there is a loss in potential. The first played out more like a street urban opera while the second is more anime video type: very different films and both succeed even if superficial in its own niche. Like the first film better but decent. Idk how well it has aged compared to the first- but seems not as well in my opinion.

The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift is the odd one in the bunch. It gets a lot of negative criticism from fans but I think this is due to the lack of any of the principle characters from the previous films and the removal of the undercurrent crime “plot” present previously in the first two films. The film manages to deviate a bit and return to the basic inspiration of the series: racing. Plus a new spin on the topic by introducing drifting (something fans for the most part agree is a positive aspect) and introducing the racing sub-culture of Japan, specifically in Tokyo (even if exaggerated or fictional). The characters are not as interesting for the most part but the series was never marked for incredibly powerful and deep characters. The film may be mediocre but no more than its immediate predessessor which same fans who have disdain for this film accept despite it being more cheesy and style over substance. The film lacks interesting characters and a more exciting story but it does its job and ages fair. It’s decent.

Fast and Furious will be remembered as the film that reunited its heroes, somewhat rebooted the franchise, and the lead in to the superior Fast Five. The film is a rehash in more ways than one of the first film. It tries to be nostalgic but fails in that respect by regressing characters to previous states and ignoring the little evolution we get. The film does the job in expanding the world and action and revealing the characters as older and mature but not necessarily wiser. Any lessons previously learned were forgotten an the same plot beats of the first film were repeated with the back drop of a revenge film that replaced the racing and fun of the first film. It was nice familiar faces of interesting characters again but I thought it could have been better done. It’s actually my least favorite of the series despite the things that I did like. Oh well one the films for me had to be last hah. An okay action film but not The Fast and the Furious type of film.

Fast Five succeeded where other installments , especially the fourth, failed to do: reinvigorate the franchise by expanding it but keeping the fun adrenaline entertaining of fast cars and racing (despite the film only having one short legitimite racing scene) we fans and moviegoers expect. Many favorite characters return in this film but there no retread of past characterization. Characters are now matured and have new sides and dimensions. We get to know more about them and relate to them even if its brief. They add new characters that are fully in tune with who they are beyond their roles in the story. The action is given an extra level and definitely revolve around the cars. The story doesn’t force them to use cars because their simply trying to escape or be wheelman mercenaries delivering drug money or drugs themselves, it’s like the first film: the cars represent an extension of who these characters are. There was action without cars and storyline dealing less with racing but it there in the background and with a purpose not tagged on to for the title requirement. The film was above all else funny exciting and have some heart to it. And it ended perfect with Eva Mendes telling Johnson’s Hobbs about Letty.

I am excited to see the further adventures of the Team in Furious Six as I call it and I think the premise is great. I always wondered how can you continue the characters story if they seem to win it all at the end of Five, seems perfect that the new film will show that freedom is really false and limited when you truly think about it – sooner or later they will all lose their money while staying just beyond Hobbs. This is perfect. Now to wait and wowed hopefully!

    • “Furious Six” is catchy and sticks with the previous title, “Fast Five”. I hope the producers adopt it! Great comments!

  16. Bring on Gina Carano!

  17. And let’s not forget, they will have at least one 5 minute race scene again. Probably will watch since 5 was enjoyable. 1 was a great racing movie, 2 was eehh but still fun, 3 was just another movie all together and 4 was where they don’t really know what the hell are they doing, is it a racing movie/cop movie/action movie.

  18. The Fast and Furious movies are pretty enjoyable. Really liked the last one and this one sounds like the finale.

    My ranks:

    1. Great
    2. Meh
    3. Meh
    4. Good.
    5. Great (best one since the first despite the lack of races)

  19. The third and fifth are my favorites, excited for 6, sounds good right now! I hard the trailers coming for superbowl, can’t wait.

    • Meant heard.

  20. I seriously doubt 6 is the last…. They’ve had a lot of characters, they could have another Tokyo Drift, have another one about Brian and his friends (forgot names so gonna use actor names) Ludacris and Tyreese Gibson.

  21. While I love the franchise isn’t every movie one last job? lol

  22. Last i heard they were planning a 6 and 7th film. diesel said as they were writing the script they realized they had to many characters plots to tie up for just one film so they decided to split it into two more. they even were gonna film 6 and 7 back-to-back at one time, but that changed.

  23. Hit makers.

  24. FF2<<FF4<FF5<FF3<FF1.

In general, 2nd and 4th are the weakest for me, the first being probably the worst. But thanks to the film-making ghosts Justin Lin has injected this series with the right type of fuel to lift it off. I cannot wait for this new installment!

    • do you mean the first is the BEST? looking at your comparison i think thats what you ment.

  25. Fast and furious 7 is the last one. Theres one more coming. Fast and furious 6 movie will end back in Los Angeles like the original movie and Doms team will get full pardons and clear records for bringing lettys crew down in london, europe. lettys new crew will get arrested and brought in proabably. Anyways Fast 7 will return to LA. Fast 7 will conclude franchise for good

  26. there will be a mk 1 mexico ford escort in it thats all i need to no !

  27. the other week i was watching all 5 like 2 times in a row. i forgot how awesome they were its been that long! i cannot wait for 6 and 7, i just wonder how they are gonna make 7 leading to tokyo drift . cant wait!

  28. See I agree that 3 was horrid the upside was it gave us Han whos Kinda of a nice character to add into the group. I loved one, 2 I liked for the Duke of Hazard bits. 3 again Han was the only thing I liked. 4 I swear I did a thank God happy dance the crews back! Wait did you just kill Letty!!!! OMG I could kill you now!. 5 again the crews there but I missed Letty, then the teaser at the end I swear I spit soda every where!

  29. Ha one last job my ass I know theres fast 7 and then they can call it quits, even though im excited for fast and furious 6 I kinda hope fast 7 is the last one though too many of these and people will call it quits. Lol.
