If this morning’s batch of photos from next month’s Fast Five wasn’t enough to get fans of the Fast and the Furious franchise stoked for the film, then the full-length theatrical preview should help get the adrenaline pumping through their veins.

The official Fast Five trailer boils down to two and a half minutes of pure cinematic testosterone – complete with multiple car (and train) crashes, brawny men duking it out, babes in bikinis, and some of the more ludicrous physical stunts this side of Jackass.

Here’s the official plot synopsis for Fast Five:

Since Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) broke Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail.

Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.

Watch the full-length Fast Five trailer (via Yahoo! Movies) below:

Justin Lin helmed the previous two entries in the Fast and the Furious series (Tokyo Drift and Fast & Furious), and he’s clearly quite experienced at shooting mile-a-minute chase sequences and hyper-kinetic fight scenes at this point. Each entry in this franchise has striven to up the ante by featuring even more awe-inspiring, property-wrecking set pieces, and Fast Five looks to be no exception.

Johnson returned to the action genre last year with Faster, but with Fast Five he should find the box office success that eluded his otherwise solid revenge thriller. That he will go mano-a-mano against Diesel – including the hard-hitting fist-fight glimpsed in this new trailer – should only further cement Johnson as being back on top of his tough-guy game.

As for Fast Five itself: moviegoers know all too well by now whether or not this franchise is their cup of tea. It ranks as one of the more highly-anticipated 2011 releases, and aims to be a big draw at the box office – so clearly the plans for Fast Five to kick off a new trilogy aren’t all that premature.

  1. Holy Sh*t that looks awesome!

This is the “chick flick” equivalent for guys. I’m so there opening day.

    • “Dick flick”.

      • hahaha

There’s gotta be a name that’s better than that.

  2. The only reason I want to see this film is b/c I’m a huge fan of The Rock.

  3. ok. did i miss the part when fast and the furious tured into takers with cars? i mean i know these movies were always about like criminals and undercover cops but it still had street racing. these movies are trying to be more of what they are. i do like the series but this is just weird and the last scene of them all in white walking in slo mo on the beach was pretty comedic..

    • turned* more then what they are*

  4. OMG this is CRAAAP!!! good luck to all of you who support this.

  5. This looks to be the best in the series so far.

  6. I CANT FREAKING WAIT THIS TRAILER…..wow it was spectacular!

  7. Are you freaking kidding me!! If that last stunt is even 80% real (perhaps they shortened the drop) then its gotta be the stunt of the decade. Other than that…this has to be what the A-Team should have been.

  8. Good to see Sung Kang getting work in Hollywood, if only because of director Justin Lin, and not the Hollywood system.

  9. I don’t think dodge chargers have enough torque to be towing around vaults, but hey it is hollywood :).

  10. Anyone else smells what the rock is cookin? Very stoked for this movie. Bring back Tyres, Vin’s old gang looks killer.

  11. Why dont they just jump out of a car that is falling out of a plane head first into a river??

Such over the top trite nonsense. Try something new it gets old after a while. And I hope they don’t set the Rock up as a sucker in this movie. Lets try and make the bad guys believably threatening this time?

  12. I was waiting to see when they were going to pull their parachutes when the car was dropping but I guess they dont use that. They’re too cool for parachutes. Such Hollywood nonsense, – I hate when they do that. It kills the illusion, the believability is thrown out the window.

  13. The Rock is in, so am I.

  14. IT BETTER NOT BE LIKE THE 4th ONE! CAUSE THE 4th ONE SUCKED!

  15. HERES THE LIST OF THE GOOD FAST AND FURIOUS MOVIES I LIKE:

    1. THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS

    2. 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS

    3. TOYKO DRIFT IT WAS OK

THE 4th ONE SUCKED! THE ONLY GOOD PART WAS THE CHASE SENE AT THE END!

  16. IT LOOKS LIKE OCEANS 11, 12, 13. BUT WITH FAST CARS!

  17. THERE BETTER BE ALOT OF STREET RACING TO MAKE UP FOR THE 4th ONE! OR I WILL BE VERYYY MAD!
