Fast Five official synopsis Fast Five Official Synopsis Revealed

There is plenty of proof that Hollywood is all about money, and just one example of that is the fact that they’re making another Fast and the Furious movie, idiotically titled Fast Five.

Despite the last few Fast and the Furious movies being somewhat fun but ultimately pointless and forgettable (I still really dig the first one), at least they’re making an attempt to freshen up things with Fast Five. A lot of familiar faces from the franchise are returning, including Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris. We also have some new (heavily-muscled) blood thrown in the mix, in the form of Dwayne Johnson.

Clearly the plot of these Fast & Furious movies aren’t all that important and certainly aren’t what fans flock to the theaters for. But all movies need a plot and we finally get a look at the official one for Fast Five today.

Take a look at the official synopsis for below:

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead a reunion of returning all-stars from every chapter of the explosive franchise built on speed in Fast Five. In this installment, former cop Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Matt Schulze, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race.

Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail.

Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey…before someone else runs them down first.

Maybe it’s not the most imaginative plot in the world, but at least it’s taking things in an interesting direction. I really dig the addition of Dwayne Johnson as an agent who apparently never fails at his job (he looks badass in the set photos we posted last month).

Dwayne Johnson on set of 'Fast Five

Will Brian (Walker) and Dom (Diesel) have finally met their match with Johnson’s Luke Hobbs? I would like for there to be a real sense of danger that they might not get out of this one alive, or at least without being in handcuffs. [SPOILER ALERT!] Even when Diesel ended up in handcuffs at the end of the last movie, Walker and his fast-driving buddies busted him out while he was in transit! That doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that any reprimanding will be permanent…

Hopefully with the welcome addition of Johnson and a somewhat refreshing plot Fast Five will be the best installment so far…maybe.

Fast Five speeds into theaters on June 10th, 2011.

  1. still trying to figure out how they are working Sung kang in this one

    • Me too!!! I thought he died! :/

    • they will most probably set this one before tokyo drift like the did with fast and furious

    • With Sung Kang in it, this would mean it’s before Tokyo Drift. That’s how i see things. So if it does good they can always do something after Tokyo Drift and bring in the guy from that one.

    • OK People, pay attention……. just like in 4 (the last movie) Han was in the very beginning and said he was going to Tokyo….. Letty was killed and Dom took revenge…… Fast 5 is after 4 but before Tokyo (obviously) since Han dies in Tokyo Drift. It wasnt that hard for people to figure it out with Star Wars, why is it hard to figure out for Fast and Furious.
Fantastic Movies, cant wait to see it, and own it. Love Vin!!!!!

    • Me too…clearly he blew up in tokyo drift

    • Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift really isn’t part of the FAST AND FURIOUS sequals. If you’re really a true FAST AND FURIOUS fan you’d know this; it would be better if they would have held this for later posting because HAN(played by Sung Kang), is in TOKYO DRIFT, FAST AND FURIOUS AND FAST FIVE, as well as the new upcoming movies FAST AND FURIOUS 6 & 7(which is coming out in 2014. There’s always been a thing on Han being in the FAST AND FURIOUS and FAST FIVE, sense he was “killed” in TOKYO DRIFT.

  2. This is most likely a prequel to Tokyo Drift. If you think about it there is no distinctive time between 2 fast 2 furious and Tokyo Drift. Tokyo Drift could have happen like years after 2 fast 2 furious. So it most likely just another prequel of events before Tokyo drift.

    • Its seems like they are pulling a Rocky V with Tokyo drift. Just pushing it under the rug and pretending it didn’t happen.

Though, it would be funny if they kill him again in this movie, thus fracturing the time-space continuum.

      • lol bro you made me laugh for like 5 mins

    • That might be the case IF it wasn’t mentioned in the synopsis, “Since Brian and Mia Toretto broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities.” Since we know the fourth film takes place AFTER Tokyo Drift (if not then how would Brian be a cop in the fourth film if he’s on the run?), this has to be after the fourth. See what I mean?

      • Right, but that guy dies in Tokyo Drift. So it has to go The Fast and Furious, 2 Fast To Furious, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Tokyo Drift. Brian wasn’t in Tokyo Drift, and he was a cop/fed in 2F2F.

Unless, wait, I figured it out. They drive so fast that they backwards around the world, a la Superman, go back before he was dead, and save him.

  3. I guess Fast Five is gonna get all action now… It’s gonna be one helluva ride!!!!!!!!!

  4. LoL

  5. Holy crap look at the size of Vin Diesel’s ARMS in that pic!

    • yeah Vic, its gonna be funny to see walker up against all that muscle, looking forward to this one for sure

    • You call that big? You see my arms! Of course, my muscles are actually covered with….something else. 8-)

  6. umm arent you guys forgetting something?? the guy who “died” in tokyo drift was in the fourth movie so he probaly survived which is like a million to one but it is a possibility since it is hollywood

    • yeah hey was in the 4th movie but that was a flash back wright????????????

  7. I’ll say this again, it’s mentioned above but obviously no one paid attention to it, no where in Tokyo Drift is there mention on WHEN it takes place, so it could be after The Fast and The Furious, as well as after Fast Five, and for all we know could take place after the sixth installment they already announced. So Han could easily still be alive in this film. End Rant.

    • tokyo drift is after fast and furious and this new furious five. Vin Diesel even tells the dude at the end of tokyo drift that han use to roll with him when he was still into american muscles.

  8. you guys are giving’ me headache” Quote Vin Diesel from the first fat furious line…. need a Tylenol lol!

  9. Can we just forget about Tokyo Drift? The only good thing about that movie was the racing, and there was far too little of that. And as stated before, we don’t know what timeframe that trainwreck was set in.

  10. This whole thing is SO Stupid. MY Gawd. The first movie was the only one that was acceptable. Guys if you pay to watch this I feel sorry for you.

  11. I think you guys got something wrong. Remember in the fourth movie Han asks Dom ‘did you do crazy things in tokyo?’ So I think, Han survived the crash and he makes contact with Dom and told Dom who’s the new DK so that Dom come to challenge Sean (Lucas Black).

  12. Okay, let’s get it straight for those who are confused…tokyo drift is the last movie in the whole franchise, its the fast and the furious, 2 fast 2 furious, fast&furious, fast five, then fast&furious6, then tokyo drift…idk if they will keep going after tokyo drift, hoping they will, and have the new DK be apart of Dom’s crew for another film…han dies in tokyo drift, when he was in fast&furious he said he heard a lot of crazy things were happening in tokyo, that shows that he goes to tokyo after fast&furious to start his own crew…so tokyo drift is the last film in the series…and I think this might b the best film next to the first and fourth installments…the rock really makes it seems like there is going to b a threat against them now…things should get interesting in this one

  13. Bring back Fonzie and Fabio

  14. I disagree I believe the 6th will take place after Tokyo Drift, thus showing the winner of the race between Dom and Sean. If they do it this way I have no idea what they have in store for the rest of the 6th movie. but everyone needs to realized that it goes The Fast and The Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Fast & Furious (number 4), Fast Five, and then Tokyo Drift. It’s not that hard to follow at all, you’re all stupid if you can’t figure it out. HAN’S DEAD in Tokyo Drift. get over it, it’s sad to see him go but he did. Dom will probably call him up and ask him to come help him out before he actually goes to Tokyo Drift. PLUS VINCE Is BACK!!!! this movie’s gonna be INSANE!!!!

    • Can I thumb this up? At least someone can follow the time line.

  15. If you remember what Han says in Tokyo Drift.. he says Tokyo was his Mexico when he ran away. Also that he had loads of money.

This film he’s gonna have to get a crap load of money and flee to Tokyo after he does something with the Fast Five. Yes, I know it did a little flashblack in Fast 4 but it wasn’t elaborated enough.

  16. You remember correctly. Dom (Vin Diesel) told at the end of Tokyo Drift that he worked with Han. So, they are not pushing anything under the rug, Fast And The Furious 4 and Fast Five are movies about the things that happened beafore the Tokyo Drift. If you read about Fast Five you can see that Dom, Brian and Mia have to pull one more job to be free…So, they do it and at the end of the Fast Five they’ll be free and Dom goes to Tokyo.

  17. The movie is gunna take place before Tokyo Drift, because in the beginning of Fast & Furious (when he’s talking to Han)they have to go there separate ways and Han saids “I heard there some crazy sh*t going on in Tokyo” so yea. clearly before Tokyo Drift not after..

  18. If yall can remember Han said in Fast and Furious that he was done and going to Japan so unless he somehow comes back from Japan and then goes back to Japan the story doesnt make sense lol

  19. The order is 1,2,4,5,and then 3.
In the beginning of fast and furious han talks about going to tokyo.
In 5 stuff happens and every things cool for a while but then, i bet he wants to get every body back again so he goes to tokyo to get Han but he died so he get Sean instead. Thats just what i think.

  20. this movie is before tokyo drift, so Han is still alive

  21. They messed up on the continuity because of the iPod in Tokyo Drift. It dates the movie.

  22. I don’t think that the fast and furious franchise will ever top the first movie it was a true to the main idea the world of imports yea it had some cheesy moments but hey its still Hollywood. When I watch the trailers of fast five I have seen but 2 cool cars but well see .

  23. Just wondering… I know I am a bit late and all but I watched Fast Five last night, the timing is off. Han had to have somehow survived that exploding car & magically disappeared. I read the whole thread of which movie everyone thinks goes where. HOWEVER… In Fast & Furious Dom gets Letty’s necklace, he never takes it off. To use the cop’s words to Dom in Fast Five…. Was $20 of silver worth it. He basically tells her it was because he loved Letty so much…. Yet he isn’t wearing it in Tokyo drift… Furthermore that car was supposed wrecked in Fast & Furious, when he went to jail how would he get it overseas? Not just that but the time line for Brian being a cop doesn’t add up either. He mentions in the movie being a cop for 5 yrs. He was pretty much a noob in the first movie. Plus Han told the girl he would get to Tokyo eventually when he headed to Germany… They are leaving him open ended so they can bring him back, just like they are going to do with Letty.

  24. The 6th movie will be BEFORE Tokyo Drift as Han is in it. At the end of Fast Five, Han says where they will be going in the next movie, and when asked about going to Tokyo replies, “We will get there eventually”
Tokyo Drift will be the 7th movie (since the 6th one is split into 2 parts)

If you are not understanding that tokyo drift is NOT BEFORE ANY OF THE OTHER MOVIES.. i suggest you re-watch them all and pay more attention.

  25. I think its silly that han dies they shouldn’t of killed him out of it in the 6th one they should say he got out of the car before it blew up
