If you’re a connoisseur of Farscape, you have a few good things to look forward to. Especially if you’re attending San Diego Comic-Con 2009.

Ben Browder and Claudia Black, creator Rockne O’Bannon and executive producer Brian Henson are going to be appearing at Comic-Con in a panel on July 24th at 10:15 a.m. in Room 6BCEF at San Diego Comic-Con.
But this might not be the only panel with Farscape in it.
Rumors have it that there may very well be another panel involving the comic book (which began publication last year) based on Farscape. No details as of yet as to when or where, but that can be cool.

Webisodes From Syfy?
At the moment, Syfy (soon to be formerly Sci-Fi) is reportedly committed to creating a series of webisodes for Farscape. They aren’t near the stage of creating scripts yet, but plans are in development.
I’m not sure what that means. Are they talking about it? It would be nice to see new stuff come out. that’s for sure.
Farscape 10th Anniversay DVD Release
Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, you can find yourself the proud owner of a boxed DVD set of all four seasons. I did not mistype. All four seasons of Claudia Black… I mean of Farscape.
A&E Home Entertainment and the Jim Henson Company are partnering to re-launch the DVD franchise in one big package.
The DVD set will have
- All four seasons of Farscape
- Hours of bonus programming
- Multiple commentaries
- Interviews with cast and crew
- Behind-the-scenes featurettes
And much more.
If you don’t need all four seasons, each season will also be available individually.
The DVD release is slated for November 2009.

Man that sounds sweet! Although I have to caution that this is the same damn channel that canned the show to begin with because it was too expensive to produce. I will look forward to getting that bad boy for Christmas. It was the show that got me to the SciFi channel to begin with, too bad they had to let it go. Nice to see that the cast si willing to work with the new guys to give us more. and yes, all the ladies were incredibly easy on the eyes.
That sounds great! Just told my wife I want that for Christmas (and I’m pretty sure she’d want that, too). That was one of those shows that really surprised me. Didn’t expect much when it came out, and then it just turned into something awesome. Thanks for this update!
Sounds good for those that don’t have the set but shessh this is the 3rd incarnation of the series on dvd.
I really doubt the bonus features will be new.
The webisodes only make me long for a new series. Really don’t see the point in them……….
I concur with everyone and even if they’ve released DVD’s before, they are pretty up front about this being a rerelease…
Im excited about this only because if it sells well then we could get more, new Farscape.
I think if they released the entire series in BLU-RAY format it would be a HUGE selling point.
Why not in Blu-Ray Guys. Farscape would look so awesome in Blu-Ray.
Well I already have the first issue dvds for the entire season and season one of the Starburst edition. I don’t have BluRay capabilities so the only thing I would want in a rerelease would be the entire 1st and 3rd seasons in Widescreen. Right now only season 4 is in WS. As much as I love the show I doubt hot selling BluRays would generate another series. If anything maybe a direct to dvd film. Who knows I’m not into webisodes and the last time I spoke to the actress that plays Chiana she said that they havnt offered enough to do it.
Who knows maybe there’s some new investors this time around.
I have every release of the Farscape francise including all the Starburst Additions.
I thought Sony owned the rights to the First season?
there are loads of new viewers who never got the chance to watch Farscape first-run. Me, I lived in an area where the cable company did not offer SciFi and at the time could not afford to buy it on DVD. It got harder and harder to even find the DVDs. And it’s not on teevee in the US anymore, anywhere!
I keep turning people — LOTS of people — on to the show, and we all want to watch it ALL. I can see online that me and my friends are not the only ones who want to buy the series and finally see it all, and have it to loan to more new people. Its really that good.
So, yeah, I guess this isn’t pectacular news for people who already have it all, but for those of us just joining the party, this is awesome news!
That’s a good point Sharla, and something I learned early on in my writing days… sometimes news isn’t news to some, but to others who are new to the genre or show we talk about, it’s not only news, it’s good news.
That and sometimes, some folk ONLY come to this site to get their tidbits of news because they’re either too busy to scan the web or just trust us to deliver content that’s already been filtered and meet our standards of what is or isn’t information.

I am so excitd about this! I never got to buy the DVDs when they were originally released and have been dying to find them somewhere. I hope they are reasonably priced!!
Well if they do rerelease the complete series on dvd they should do it all in Widescreen and include the Peacekeeper War in there as well.
How does everyone feel about getting Farscape released in Blu-Ray?
