Fargo is about to start it third season on FX. The anthology show, based upon the Coen brothers' movie of the same name, will take us back to 2010, where brothers Ray and Emmit Stussy find themselves in over their heads. With both roles being played by Ewan McGregor, Fargo season three promises to be an intriguing prospect - and an earlier first look at McGregor in the role of Ray, showed him as a barely recognizable, pot-bellied, balding man with a rather nice car.

That teaser also gave a look at two other Fargo season 3 cast members; Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Nikki Swango, and Carrie Coon as town Sheriff, Gloria Burgle. A further teaser has also been released ahead of Fargo's imminent return, and this one just features Coon. Take a look, above.

Fargo will be hoping to enjoy the same critical and commercial success that it's seen with its previous seasons, and certainly showrunner Noah Hawley has done a good job in assembling an all-star cast once again. McGregor plays the aforementioned Stussy brothers, with Emmit infinitely the more successful of the pair. He is the self-described Parking Lot King of Minnesota, while Ray is down on his luck and moves through life with a huge chip on his shoulder. Ray works as a parole officer, and it is there that he meets Niki, a parolee with a penchant for competitive bridge.

Meanwhile, David Thewlis stars as V.M. Vargas, a mysterious loner and true capitalist who plans to partner with Emmit whether he likes it or not. As Emmit and Ray's twisted sibling rivalry dissolves into petty crime and ultimately murder, it is up to newly-divorced single mother Gloria (Coon), to solve the series of crimes - and given the way previous seasons have unfolded, she's likely to be pretty busy.

An additional teaser has also been released, giving us our first look at McGregor as Emmit Stussy; sharp businessman and perfectionist. In contrast to Ray, Emmit is clean, well presented, and gives off a rather arrogant air. He also looks much closer to how McGregor usually presents himself:

The teaser above is as cryptic as all Fargo teasers are, with the cold and bleakness of the environment playing a major factor. But what is that box in the road, and will we see mention of it in Fargo itself or is it just a promo clip? Certainly, the teaser bears close resemblance to the original Fargo movie, when Marge Gunderson drives down a desolate road in the snow. That would follow, since Hawley has already spoken of the comparison between the two characters and has described Gloria as representing decency in the corrupt world around her. Whether she can remain an upright, honest citizen while everyone around her descends into a life of crime, remains to be seen.
