Fan-Made Thor Movie Trailer

The first full trailer for Marvel Studios’ upcoming Thor movie has arrived! Well, not really, but if you’re as excited as I am for Kenneth Branagh’s adaptation of the Asgardian Avenger, then you should check out this fan-made Thor trailer.

Featuring scenes, sound and music cut from many movies, movie trailers and a video game, this fan-made Thor trailer depicts most of the principal cast of the film in their appropriate roles, including Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Kat Dennings and Stellan Skarsgård.

From the description of the video by EditNinja, you can see all of the movies where scenes were cut from for the Thor trailer.

Footage from: Ca$h [2010], Outlander [2008], Brothers [2009], Hulk [2003], Alexander [2004], Troy [2004], Van Helsing [2004], Defendor [2010], Angels And Demons [2009], A Perfect Getaway [2009], Superman Returns [2006], Hellboy [2004], Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D [1998], and the trailer for The Clash Of The Titans, Swat, Spartan, Marvel Ultimate Alliance VG,

Soundbites from the animated ‘Hulk Vs Thor’

Music from Immediate Music ‘Heaven’s Warriors’ and ‘Distant Thunder’

NOTE: Using all available info about the upcoming Thor movie [2011], I started collecting scenes and similar shots from other movies with the listed cast. Yes, Chris Hemsworth lost his wig on the rainbow bridge upon entering Earth. Tom Hiddleston (Loki) has not starred in any readily available movies so he was merely implied here. Natalie Portman plays a caring wife ‘Brothers’ so that was easy; Stellan Skarsgaard (Angels & Demons) as the expert on Norse Mythology; Clark Gregg (Iron Man, Spartan) as the SHIELD Agent; Sir Anthony Hopkins(Alexander) as Odin; and Kat Dennings (Defendor) as a new character.
I’m expecting alot from this movie and this is how I envision Kenneth Branagh will direct it.

We can appreciate the effort from grabbing scenes from all over the place to make something out of nothing, but I’m dying to see something released for the movie and we can expect plenty of that relatively soon.

The official Thor trailer will debut at San Diego Comic-Con in July and we’ll be there live to tell you about it.

Iron Man 2 opens May 7, 2010, Thor opens May 5, 2011, The First Avenger: Captain America hits July 22, 2011 and The Avengers is scheduled to debut May 4, 2012.

Thanks to Collider for the find.

  1. What Marvel trailers (if any) will be attached to Iron Man 2? nothing i suppose. :(

  2. that was pretty cool, i like how he didnt just cut to a part from another movie, he had text in between to 'hide' the shift from movie to movie.
i'll probably make something like this at the end of the year for my college course just for laughs though

  3. That music started to get annoying after about a minute and a half in…

  4. I know it was FANMADE TRAILER but i didn't like it!!! But it was put together very well….

  5. This was a kick ass trailer!!!! Damn!!!! I think the real trailer has something to live up to! and come to think of it I think Thor SHOULD say “FOR ODIN FOR ASGARD” OR something along those lines! Some calling card or battle cry that should be Thors alone! I am liking this trailer. Wonder how long it took them to make this and what program was used.

  6. You didn't hear about Pixar working on the feature film of the adventures of Spider-Ham?? They are going to have a teaser trailer released in front of the Iron Man 2 movie in select theaters! I heard it looks amazing and is really funny!!!!! lol ;)

  7. Are you serious?!

  8. I hate fan-made trailers…

  9. You kid….. but I would watch that. I used to read Spider-Ham. All 12 issues… lol (or however many it was. I don't remember but it wasn't a lot.)

    I liked PunFisher. lol

  10. This was actually pretty good. The screen transactions were distracting but i cant complain too much because he did use dif movie clips.

  11. Unlike Daniel, I liked the music but the actual trailer was just OK for me. Maybe if he had included Thor using Mjonir to cause an earthquake or smash something when he said “For Odin…”, it may have been better. Of course, where would you find something like that?

  12. It was an okay trailer. This actually makes me anticipate the movie a lot more. I'm excited for all these movies to come out. Time just isn't going by fast enough!

  13. No I”m not— lol But DAMMIT I wish I was serious!!!! :D I would LOVE to see a Pixar Spider-Ham! That would be hilarious and RIDICULOUSLY COOL!!!! I use to love those comics!

  14. Thor would be my fav movie if Portman actually had that many “good” scenes : P . the music was annoying but good trailer
