Funnier Trailer For Family Guy ‘Empire Strikes Back’ Parody

sonething something something darkside Funnier Trailer For Family Guy Empire Strikes Back Parody

About a week or so ago I posted a teaser trailer for “Something, Something, Something, Darkside”, which is Family Guy‘s newest spoof of the Star Wars Trilogy, this time lampooning the happenings of Empire Strikes Back.

I lot of you were happy to see Family Guy doing a follow-up to their hilarious 2007 Star Wars parody, “Blue Harvest”, but thought that the teaser trailer was a bit disappointing in terms of laugh out loud moments.

Well I’m happy to report that there is now a full trailer for “Something, Something, Something Darkside”, and it really does bring the laughs.

What was missing from the teaser trailer that is included here are those sly, knowing little winks that Family Guy provides on just about any topic imaginable. Of course, there is plenty of raunchy humor as well (never fear, my low-brow friends), along with plenty of Family Guy inside jokes. My personal favorite are the great role choices, where we see many of our favorite characters from Quahog ironically cast as the Star Wars universe’s biggest icons.

Check out the trailer below (and wait to you see who is playing Boba Fett!):

Ok, after watching that a second time… It really is pretty freaking funny.

“Something, Something, Something, Darkside” will be available on DVD/Blu-ray on December 22, 2009. For those of you not interested in purchasing/renting it, the episode will air on Fox sometime in 2010. We’ll be sure to update you on when you can tune in.

You can watch regular Family Guy episodes Sundays @ 9pm on Fox.

I will still watch this, because well its star wars related, but this latest season of Family Guy is paticularly poor and even I am starting to find some of the jokes offensive.
I have called it a day between me and Family Guy, which is a sahme because season 1-5 are simply hillarious. But hey, we grow out of things I suppose.

I don’t think I have laughed at a new episode in a year. Family guy is over for me unless it is seasons 1-4

definitely funnier than the last one…hopefully it’s just as good as the first star wars movie spoof. if all three are great i’ll buy ‘em on dvd.

This looks pretty funny, but I agree that now I am extra-embarrassed to be watching the show when my wife rolls through the living room… it seems more and more sexist and offensive and cruel humor is the base of the show. The Cleveland Show was unwatchable.

There is noattempt in Family Guy anymore to even make a semi coherrent story in most episodes, they are just a random assortment of sketches and flashbacks, it has become a parody of itself. I hope this Star Wars is funny, Blue Harvest was hillarious, but for me it signalled the end of the show i used to love.

@Stu Shiffman: I’d be more embarrassed that your wife “rolls through” the living room…. somehow, I doubt she’d appreciate you describing her that way to the internet.

Alas, it was literal, Mike, as she uses a power wheelchair and is alway zipping back and forth.
