Yearning for a ziptastic adventure across the Forza wasteland? Want the next best thing to an atomic vehicle that you can actually park in a neighborhood (I’m looking at you, Highwayman)? Look no further than the 1956 F100 Fallout 4 Edition, running entirely on gas-o-line and brought to you by the fine folks at Turn 10 and Vault-Tec!
In an exclusive to the Xbox One-only racing title, Forza 6, Bethesda and Turn 10 have teamed up to bring gamers on the console the ability to drive the venerable Ford F100. Colored a powered blue with chrome and white-walled tires (and with the classic vault-boy adorning the side of the vehicle as well as the Vault-Tec logo on the top of the cab), all players who own Forza 6 will be able to race the pickup truck in races starting today.
Turn 10 and Bethesda’s partnership doesn’t only extend to the F100, however. At the end of the trailer announcing the pickup truck (see above), a teaser image of the Chryslus Rocket 69 was shown, coming soon for Fallout 4 players. In a stark contrast to the gritty, worn-down look that the F100 is sporting, the Rocket 69 looks brand new with a shiny coat of paint – and a sleek design that fits fantastically with the ;50s-inspired theme of the long-running Fallout franchise.
While the Ford F100 Fallout 4 Edition is available nearly a week ahead of Fallout 4’s release date, no date has been announced for the Chryslus Rocket 69. Presumably, it should be released for Forza 6 the same day Fallout 4 drops, but gamers may be a little too busy exploring the Boston wasteland to really want to drive a car in another.
Bethesda has really been out to promote Fallout 4 as best they can and there is plenty of merchandise around; preorders for the game with the Pip-boy 3000 have long sold out, Soda Jones and Target are going to be releasing Nuka-Cola Quantum in time for the release, and the complete Fallout anthology was released with space for Fallout 4 in the mini-nuke case. There’s also the mobile game as well as the now-additional DLCs for other games.
It’s not hard to see that this is a highly-anticipated game – but hopefully Fallout 4 won’t ship with more
radroaches bugs, than the average gamer will be able to deal with.
The Ford F100 Fallout 4 Edition is available for download for Forza 6 now with the Chryslus Rocket 69 TBA. Fallout 4 itself drops on November 10th.
