Well I know 1 person who would be cast in the film, Liam Neeson considering he plays the main kids dad in the game might as well have him reprise the role in the movie.

blipvert says:

As well as Ron Perlman, he’s been involved in the games since the beginning of the franchise.

This is the one (and really only) video game to movie adaptation I dream about seeing. Keepin my fingers crossed.

Ken J says:

There are so many post-apocalyptic movies though…

But speaking of video game movies, I am seriously wondering what they are going to make Bioshock about, because the twist at the end of the game was actually very unexpected and very creative, how will they top that?

Anyway, I haven’t played Fallout 3, so I don’t know anything about that…

Daniel F says:

Could be interesting had a decent story although Mass Effect was a much better game with a much more epic amazing story. I can’t wait to see Mass Effect hit the big screen and from what I hear right now Avi Arad has bought the rights to it.

dudelove says:

Could be perfect counter programing to the nuetered Terminator Salvation.

Rob Keyes says:

@ Daniel F,

I loved Mass Effect and hope that movie gets made right.

Rob Keyes says:

Good call on the actors – This game featured a stellar cast.

I didn’t get a chance to discuss the style of the game in terms of gore. This movie is over-the-top in that aspect.

When I shot people in their leg, their head and arms would blow off. When I shot their upper body or head, their entire body explodes into little pieces… almost every time. I’m assuming the movie won’t be as rediculous, lol

dudelove says:

I agree, that would turn the movie into an unintentional comedy. But some of the visuals should still be horrifying, like The Road, not a gory book at all, but has many very horrifying and sickening images. That book is what post apocalyptic fiction should aspire to be.

Daniel F says:

I think the movie could be better than the game. I thought Fallout had a good story, but lacked a bit in gameplay I thought it was one of the most overrated games the year it came out. Most places gave it a 9 out of 10, but I thought a 7/10 would be far more accurate. It had a lot of game play issues.

Mass Effect while being one of the glitchist games to ever make it big still had amazing game play and the most brilliant story a video game has ever had. One thing to note Rob is Avi has had a very wishy washy record with films so it really truly could go either way with Mass Effect. Luckily it is crafted so beautifully that story is perfect for film as is with out any changes. If they kept the main story in tact and just gave it good casting it’s set.

SK-47 says:

After playing the first Fallout years back, I always imagined that it would make a great film. Those first two games had a heavy Mad Max influence–which is good–plus some great concepts. The Bottlecaps as currency idea is still great to me.

Daniel F says:

Bottlecaps as currency is funny, but highly unrealistic. Things like Salt, water and fuel would be more likely especially salt.

SK-47 says:

True, it is unrealistic, but this is a movie we’re talking about here based on a video-game. Not something based off any current events.

Rob Keyes says:

@ Daniel F,

I agree about Fallout 3, I got quickly bored of it and it felt like a chore for me to play.

I still haven’t beaten it despite having it for the 360 and PC. The gameplay is very weak, the graphics don’t impress me and it feels extremely limited. As a shooter, it fails in that aspect and the AI is absurd.

One day I’ll play through it to see the entire story (probably when I get a nicer TV).

Daniel F says:

Yea couldn’t agree more. I’m not really a fan of first person games though I did enjoy Oblivion to a point, but Fallout is by no stretch of the imagination Oblivion.

Yea it got very repetitive very fast. I don’t even remember how it happened I just suddenly stopped playing it out of no where.

790 says:

Is Fallout 3 a full on RPG or more like a FPS?

Also, Ken have you seen both endings for Bioshock? There’s two endings.

Daniel F says:

Fallout is I little more like a RPG than a first person shooter. The heavy focus is on RPG , but the game is FPS and impossible to play in third person. You get the option, but it’s just unplayable in third the controls are terrible.

790 says:

Yeah that’s what I thought Daniel, thanks.

I’ll stay away from Fallout, I can’t stand RPG’s.

Ken J says:

790, actually, there is technically 3 endings, but yah, it’s basically 2. The “bad” ending has two versions. The video is the same, but the dialog and music is different. It depends on if you harvested all of the little girls or just some of them. Basically if you harvest more than 1 but less than all, you get the “bad” ending, and if you harvest ALL of the little girls you get the bad ending with a grimmer sounding narration. If you harvest 1 or none, you get the “good” ending.

Orphan says:

I like Fallout 3…..i agree about the bad controls though….it would be way better if it had the same control style as bioshock……

Savannah L. says:

I would love to see a Fallout movie. I’m not sure how it would turn out though, seeing as almost every movie based off a video game i have seen sucks. Plus, we hear this now that they are thinking of making a movie and then we heard the same thing about Halo but they threw that idea away. this could be the same old thing.

gabbo says:

personnaly i liked the game alot.although once i played one and two i relised the game play was good 9/10 but story was more like 6.5/10. for me fallout 2 was
gameplay-9/10
story-10/10
fallout 1
story-8/10
gameplay7/10

i would love to see fallout 1 the movie and then fallout 2 the movie but fallout 3 the movie would suck
