2008 supernatural 2008 Fall TV Schedule PreviewThe rough and tumble journey of the Sam and Dean, the Winchester Brothers. Twenty-three years ago, Sam Winchester (Played by Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (played by Jensen Ackles) lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Bruce says: Bring it!!! I’m looking to see how Dean and Sam deal with each other after Dean gets out of H E Double L. Oops. Did I just give something away?

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles on FOX (Season 2)

terminator3 2008 Fall TV Schedule Preview TTSCC makes it past it’s first season to continue the mythos building stories that happen between T2 and T3. As the season developed, it started touching more on the mythos and leaned away from the obvious corny terminator humor. I think the development got better as the season went on.

Bruce says: This show started out pretty slow with tried and old lame humor and some logistical issues. It bordered on lame, but as it went on it started to integrate with the mythos of the franchise. It started weaving that which happened in the show with events from within the movies. In my book, it got good. This one became a Bruce Fave.

Premieres Monday, September 8th

The Mentalist on CBS (NEW)

This is about an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation. The commercials seem interesting at best.

Bruce says: I have nothing to say. The CBI??? Hmm. Is there such a thing? I even live in CA!

Premieres Tuesday, September 23rd

The Shield, The Final Act on FX (Season 7)

The Shield starts the 7th and last season of this dirty, gritty cop drama. How will it end for Vic Mackey? His boss wants his corrupt butt out of the force. Diro Kesakhian wants Vic and his family dead for the Armenian money train. (Back in season 2!) Starring Michael Chiklis, Benito Martinez and CCH Pounder.

Bruce says: I really liked the first 2 seasons, but lost touch as other things took priority. I am going to have to get back in touch for this final season. It was an addicting fave, and will probably sneak it’s way into my viewing schedule.

Premieres Tuesday, September 2nd

The Unit on CBS (Season 4)

A covert ops unit and their families dealing with the secretive jobs, the political policies and the fallout from the bad assignments as they follow their orders to keep the world a safer place.

Bruce says: I love this show. It blends family life with covert stuff and the gray areas in between. There’s more to it that meets the eye and they’ve got a pretty good handle on this finicky balance one’s “job” and family. I can relate! A definite Bruce Fave.

Premieres Sunday, September 28th

True Blood on HBO (NEW)

anna paquin in true blood 2008 Fall TV Schedule Preview Vampires “come out” and become part of society in one small town. humans and vampires co-habitating in a small Louisiana town after the vampires have discovered a Japanese-made synthetic blood called TruBlood. This moves the vamps from predators to “fellow citizens.” Eesh.

Bruce says: I don’t get HBO… No, not I don’t get them. I mean I don’t get it on my cable box.

Premieres Sunday, September 7th

Valentine, Inc. on the CW (NEW)

Valentine is a new comedy drama about Greek gods living among us.

Bruce says: Oh please, hold me back. I can’t wait for this show to start. So it can than be canceled and I won’t be pestered about it. I might be wrong, but we’ll see.

Premieres Sunday, September 21st

Without a Trace on CBS (Season 7)

Without a Trace starts it’s 7th season about the Missing Persons Squad of the FBI.

Bruce says: I like this show. It has a great approach to how they cover the cases, and touch on the cops personal lives. I think it’s a great balance. It’s a Bruce Fave.

  1. Friend of mine watched a rough cut of the Fringe pilot, and said it was horrible.
    Acting, writing, story all bad.

He’s is concerned for the new Star Trek movie, written by the same team.
    :-( :-( :-(

  2. 790: So basically what I said about the Fringe panel at Comic Con:

“… the more important statistical warning is that people were leaving during the panel. …no one seemed to be buying what they were chatting about, or they had somewhere else to be. Regardless, if this were a thermometer for gauging audience anticipation, they need to take note, quit spending money on all the viral stuff – and spend it on the story.”

May be more on target than some wanted to believe?

Should we worry about Star Trek, or do you think that they probably focused more on Star Trek and just pumped the media for Fringe….

Like one panel attendee asked: “Hey J.J., is Fringe going to be one of those shows you put your name on, then just move on from, to your next project?”

I thought that was a classic inquiry. LOL.

  3. Well Star Trek’s gonna be a big hit opening weekend for sure, its freash and new, and I’m sure visually will look awesome.
Its the writing and story that might send it off course.
I predict it will prob have a real good opening weekend, and then fade into a possible 200 mil grossing domestically film.
I don’t see it beating Iron Man or TDK domestic.
I have a bad feeling Nimoy is going to steal the film and I don’t know if that’s a good thing yet?
My friend had this comment on Fringe I found amusing.

“It’s a mix of X-Files, Altered States, and whatever else
you can imagine these three amigos were brought up with..”

  4. Season premire of Prison Break was awesome !!!!!

  5. Did they save the galaxy yet? Or is that next season? I saw the commercial for the season premier of Prison Break, I like the stereotypical Asian tech guy character in that commercial.

I got a good laugh at that one…
