The Falcon and Winter Soldier are about to have one of their bloodiest encounters to date. The popular duos five-part comic miniseries will end in a bloody fashion with a new preview showing the pair will have to fight like hell to come out on top of their most recent adventure,
Ahead of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier television show coming on Disney+ featuring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan returning in their respective roles following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel Comics released a comic series that brought the pair together. Like in the movies and previous comics, the two characters don't always see eye-to-eye. But, after meeting a superfan named the Natural who's also a dangerous killer (while Hydra rises from the ashes), they agree to team-up to find out just exactly is going on.
If you expected Sam and Bucky's journey to figure out the truth about Hydra and the Natural to get any easier, you're going to be sorely disappointed. In solicits for Falcon & Winter Soldier #5 by Derek Landy, Federico Vicentini, Dan Mora and Khoi Fam, the two Marvel heroes will find themselves in a diner in Nevada that's overrun with Hydra soldiers. Meanwhile, they have to figure out a way to put down the Natural as the chaos builds around them.
If all that wasn't enough, two mysterious figures will be vying to become the new Hydra Supreme - who will assume the top spot among the terrorist organization. The preview (and cover by Mora) teases that the series is going to go out in style, with the diner (and Hydra soldiers) seemingly taking the brunt of the damage as the issue is called a "bullet-riddled, window-smashing, table-breaking" conclusion. That's more than appropriate for a high-octane series like Falcon & Winter Soldier. There will certainly be lasting impacts felt from the series as the eventual anointing of a new Hydra Supreme will represent an all-new threat. Meanwhile, the Natural is a whole other story. It won't be easy for Sam and Bucky to take down all of the threats they face - but when has it ever been easy for either of them? Check out the cover and solicit for the issue below.
