If you believe a gurantee of privacy means that your personal information is secure you probably believe North Korea hacked into the Federal database the other day as well. ;-) These social sites will one day be used to catalog everyone into a general database. I've gotten back in touch with a ton of old friends from college, high school, and even kindergarten. I now keep in far better touch with them all. That's the appeal. And only friends can see your private stuff. If you've had problems, it's either somebody hacked into your account or a virus that hit you. There WAS some commotion over Facebook claiming ownership to all the pictures posted on it, but that's been cleared up now - although personally it didn't bother me. I can see how it could be a problem for people who post up very embarrassing pictures of themselves from parties or whatever - but that's their own fault to begin with.
